Waited over an hour and a half to get what I wanted. This trip should have been 10 minutes. I wanted a shelf that was on sale and advertised everywhere. Asked someone up front which isle it would be, they didn't help. Then I asked a woman in the shelving department and she disappeared. Finally the "head of the department " spoke to me. Said, if it's not here, then we don't have it. I already researched online that they dud indeed have 12 in stock and that maybe they could check up front. As we were walking with him, he stopped several times to help others instead of me. He said he couldn't find it. I don't honestly think he bothered. He told me, it was other people whom home depot hired who were at fault. That they scan stock as being available when it isn't. (A likely story. ) When I asked to speak to a manager, he then called his walkie talkie and was joking around with the nasty women coworkers up front. They were trying to pawn their job off onto him. My father-in-law was with me, at this point, as agitated as I was and said, no, this man is busy helping us. To which all the women upfront started laughing at my in law. The in law and man decided to go look for the shelving unit I wanted while I stayed expecting to speak to a manager. 10 minutes go by. I tell them, it can't be possible that someone walked in amd bought all 12 shelves in the hour it took me to wait for you to help find it. After asking the women to get the manager and with no luck, I decide to call using my cell phone. The lady at the desk, somehow cuts the person I reach off, and waves with a big smile on her face, saying, "Ma'am, they went to look for the shelf.", I said, okay, but can you please connect me to the manager? Finally I reach who I think was the manager (I never physically met her) and she said, "I've been trying to get to you, but every time I try, someone asks me for help." I told her that was no excuse. I get cut off by the woman up front saying, they found the shelf. As I walk towards where they are, the man is making jokes while on his lift to get the shelving unit. I was not laughing. He then proceeded to take his time, honking the horn, laughing, saying, see, patience really pays off. This coming from a man who stood at the section and told me, "if it's not there, then we must not have it." I am fuming. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent shopping for a bbq grill on May 28, 2017. found a nexgrill that was on sale but could not find one that was on display only one in a box. after waiting for about 45 minutes and having associates called 3x we finally decided to purchase the grill. paid for it and was told that it would be put together at no charge if we wanted to wait a week. We said thank and chose to wait. I went to the store on June 3, 2017. The associate could not find the grill in the will call area. Now we are looking all over the store for a grill that was paid for, supposedly put together and could not find. So we go outside in the rain to look at all of the grills and low and behold, the grill was outside with the other 50 grills to be sold. Ours was the only one that was not the same as all of the others. we are now both soaking wet. the associate says I will just help you put it in your truck so you do not have to wait for another person. we go to lift the grill in the truck and wheels fall off. they were not even bolted on, then the entire top of the grill comes off of the base. nothing on the grill was screwed or bolted together. Now I leave it there as was told that I would be called on Sunday as they would have someone in the store correct the problem. I get a call on Monday June 5, 2017 in the morning about 9am. they ask me whats up with the grill and why have I not come to pick it up? I again explain the entire situation and was told that I would be called back by noon. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, I call HD at 9am explain the situation to two different people being that one passed me off to the next and so on. the third person then says that the grill is ready and put together. So I asked why did someone not call me as they said they would. The dumb ass responds, they would have eventually gotten around to it. I will now go to Home Depot to pick up the grill. fingers crossed that its all together and will actually work when I get it home and connect the gas. If you have to shop at Home Depot in Monticello, be prepared for not great service, half the time having to find what you are looking for on your own because half of the staff does not know where it is. Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: To further my review of not getting cabinets there, our countertop installers came yesterday and home depot put half the order correctly the other half a completely different order (wrong color etc). Not only that, they told us not to install the sink! Apparently we were upposed to install the sink and put on the intall paper it was a different type sink etc. He did not measure anything correctly. Our microwave is sticking over the corner of the wall by a half inch because it doesn't fit with how he measured the cabinets. Our (new) cabinet installers had to cut and trim all our brand new custom cabinets to fit. Nothing was done correctly. Original: This store is a train wreck. Good luck finding anyone who really knows about specific products. Hugely, do NOT buy custom kitchen cabinets here!!! They may act nice but are hardly ever there so it's impossible to get proper help. If you ask for emails you get the wrong things. If anything at all. Literally waited months for my plans to be sent so the installer can put them in. It is currently the day of with the installers here waiting for hours and we still can not get them to send us the correct email with our layout!! This is months on top of over 24hrs! Managers aren't allowed to or even know how to basically do anything to help.
