Very bad experience at this Popeyes restaurant, it’s been getting worse lately. Today, I was served by the shift manager, who had a very bad attitude. While taking my order, he answered his personal cell phone and started talking to someone while I was waiting. After hanging up, he continued with my order, but he got it wrong because he didn’t listen to what I said. So, I had to place a second order to complete my request, and once again, his phone rang, and he answered it, leaving me waiting. While I waited, he was shouting at the kitchen staff. The manager’s appearance was very unprofessional for a restaurant—his shirt was unbuttoned, and he had long nails, which was very unpleasant, to be honest. The restaurant was very dirty, with no cleanliness. The tables were dirty, the chairs were dirty, and the walls were scratched—very poor presentation. Additionally, my small order took about 15 minutes to be ready and it was incomplete. There is a lack of communication among the employees because no one speaks the same language. Very bad experience. When this restaurant opened a couple of years ago, customer service was excellent and the food was fantastic, but now the chicken is very greasy, and it upset my stomach—very low quality. Read moreThis place in Monticello, New York deserves 0 stars. My husband and I walked in and were completely ignored by 3 staff members. They appeared to be busy, but in any retail or food business you acknowledge the customer, say hello and say that you’ll be right with them. This did not happen- my husband had to ask someone to please come help us. The woman acted like she didn’t speak English so we asked for the manager. The manager, whose name apparently was Maria, came over and asked how she could help us. When we asked why we stood there for 15 minutes and were completely ignored- her response was that we looked busy because we were on the phone. This was a lie because we patiently stood at the cash register waiting to be acknowledged for about 5 minutes and then after another 5 minutes went by we did decide that maybe a mobile order would get their attention. This is NOT an acceptable excuse- you always greet people. I would like to be contacted back about this interaction because I believe that this needs to be addressed because this behavior is unacceptable and in this day and age where self service is replacing jobs like cashiers, these staff members need to be reprimanded and held accountable for this. Read moreThe service used to be a 40 minute wait consistently, and that is including ordering the in the app and in person. It seems to have dropped to around 10 minutes, sometimes sooner if you are fortunate. So there's some improvement.
I noticed that their small drinks come in even smaller cups now to where the straw is twice as tall as the drink, and it's mostly just ice in there.
Today I had ordered a meal that came with fries and from a 13 dollar meal I received a single potato's worth of fries. It was very disappointing.
It was a great spot when it first opened but its service is very poor now.
I would recommend going to the McDonald's nearby and using an app deal to get a dollar drink that's about 32oz instead of paying the extra in a combo or upwards around 3 or 4 dollars for a cup of ice with a sprinkle of pop.
The Middletown location is vastly superior in service, I would recommend them much more than...
