Thompson Square Mall — Local services in Town of Thompson

Average small square "strip mall" for suburbs but in the heart of a semi-rural area. 1/3 of the storefronts are empty (Staples closed a few years ago and the movie theatre over a decade ago,) but there's still Home Depot, ShopRite, GameStop, Chinese food, and a small Urgent Care, etc. as well as some new construction also happening. The Home Depot has a small-average selection for immediate needs (the same reason that the Staples went under - we order most necessary things online around here nowadays) but the ShopRite actually has one of the better variety and selections than most of the other stores in the region.

Overall it's better than nothing as there are slim pickings around here in terms of affordable (not overpriced local) retail stores with a good variety of inventory on-site. However many locals just either order online nowadays, or scoot over the boarders to other areas like Middletown (Orange County,) Ellenville (Ulster County,) or even...

My love surprised me he had me fooled I thought we were going for a chain for my pandora necklace but just as I turned to tell him there wasn't any he asked the lady where the engagement rings were. 💍 they had a beautiful selection he told me to pick any one I wanted I tried on about 10 before this simple ring caught my eye. At my age I like simple but pretty rings so I surprised him when he paid 1000s less than what he planned. The only complaint we had is I guess we weren't dressed to the cashiers standards because when we told her we would take the ring she said well it costs (a couple thousand) price rather not disclose. Between the huge and well stocked Home Depot and Shoprite in the Thompson Square Mall you can get just about anything and everything a residentail home and business owner should ever require to keep their homes, businesses and their appitites completely filled up. It was a shame that Staples took a hike out of the square which made the ability to buy anything you need just a little more trouble, however, between the Shoprite and the Home Depot stores there is a nice selection of home and office business supplies and requrements.
