Ticonderoga Health Center — Local services in Town of Ticonderoga

I went in first thing in the morning before they had anyone there with obvious pink eye and they said they were two busy to see me for hours. That’s ridiculous. I just needed a prescription, but apparently that takes HOURS for this office. There were plenty of people working there, and zero patients in the waiting room, but writing a prescription was too much for them to handle.

This may not seem like a big deal, but I decided to finally write a review because this is the most recent of many negative experiences with this health center. I saw a midwife for a postpartum checkup after giving birth to my daughter and she failed to diagnose two separate things that I am now in physical therapy for and actually laughed at me when I mentioned I thought something was wrong. Two other times, they mishandled the billing and I had to spend multiple hour+ phone conversations between HHHN and the insurance company to figure it out.

This is the only health clinic in town, unless you want to go to the emergency room at Moses Ludington Hospital, and unfortunately it seems like the lack of competition has made them complacent. Went to this facility on a Saturday with a very severe sore throat. Sent out a culture to determine if it was strep (rapid strep test was negative). They said maybe the results would be back on a Monday. Called Tuesday---"someone will get back to you." Wednesday---"someone will get back to you." Thursday, I'm now feeling much better, called again, waited on the phone----a nurse confirmed it was not strep. Told her their follow up is completely lacking and if it were strep, at what point were they going to reach out and prescribe the antibiotics needed to knock it back? I felt the service i received that Saturday was attentive and thorough but it's incumbent on them to reach out and convey lab findings, not me chasing them with hollow call...

I have been to the Ticonderoga Health Center many times. Each and every time I have received exemplary service and only kindness and consideration from all of the staff there. The nursing staff are highly trained and sensitive to your immediate needs and condition. The Dr.s & PA s & Nurses Assistants are all first class and are attentive to your specific ailments, wants and needs. The secretaries are kind, understanding and aim to please. I would not go anywhere else when I am in need of medical care. This is a First Class...
