Butler's Wine & Spirits — Local services in Town of Tonawanda

I didn't go here but Google often gets it wrong. In fact, I don't drink. However, that's just my personal choice and I fully encourage anyone who enjoys drinking to go ahead and indulge in the spirits. I hope you do so appropriately, never, ever drive after drinking, and for you guys who think it's cool to video yourself giving your dog beer, just cut that out! I never had a drinking problem, but I certainly used to enjoy some beverages in my younger days. As I got older, I just stopped drinking and haven't touched it in 21 years now. I'm not looking for applause, it's no big deal. And I'm not judging you for having a few pops now and then. I'm sure if I drank, I'd go to Butler's for the wide selection, friendly and helpful employees and great prices! This is why I'm giving them 5 stars. I'm not sure where I was that Google thought I was here instead but may as well help out the grand folks at Butler's, right? Please understand that sometimes I will buy alcohol for a gift so it's not out of the question that one fine day I'll march into Butler's and purchase something. Of course I won't tell them I'm the weirdo who wrote this review but perhaps I'll smile slyly and wink and they'll knowingly smile back. On second thought, that sounds pretty creepy. Posting this review for my husband: This week I visited this store for the first time. I was buying 2 airline type bottles of vodka for a disabled friend on my way to visit him. After paying, I asked for a bag. The girl at the register replied, “You have pockets”. There were 2 open boxes of paper bags a bit bigger than a lunch bag on the counter. I asked if she could put them in one of them. She replied, “ I’m not going to give you a big bag for that”. They weren’t grocery bags and regardless, I am a customer buying merchandise from your store and being refused a bag?! She said, with an attitude of a 5 year old, that she could go in back to see if they had any small bags. I stood there dumbfounded. Two boxes of lunch size bags right on the counter and you can’t give me one?! A male employee, 5 feet from her, pulls a small bag out from under his register and hands it to her. I first thought that maybe she was having a bad day or had some mental issues and I should cut her some slack, until I read other reviews about “A female employee” being extremely rude and insulting. The owner’s daughter???? I can’t...

I really apologize for using a couple of dollar bills that were folded in my pocket. The lady working the register is one of the coldest individuals I have ever met in my life. Thanks for checking with the owner to be sure they were deposit able before I walked out. They are legal tender. They were wrinkled, not damaged and I really didn’t need the eye roll. Not my first run in, but I think I’ll shop it straight up from now on. (Edit - after receiving the response, I’ll state that there is no misunderstanding, this is the first time I’ve been so turned off that I decided to write a negative review of a specific person, and from the other recent review, seems someone is in denial. Face it, you aren’t a kind person. Also note she took the time to edit the story a second time and add even more bullshit. There were no holes in the bills. As I noted, a couple were crumpled.
