If I could, I wouldn't give any "stars" to this establishment because I wasted over $2,500 on a dress and veil. The dress I tried on and decided was The One fit absolutely perfectly, and I thought that was the size Katie (the owner) ordered for me. Lo and behold, 5 months later when the store received the dress it was extremely large in all the wrong places. Apparently, Katie decided to ordered up a size without my knowledge because I was in between even though the smaller size I tried on fit like a glove. When I confronted her that the dress I ordered was not the dress I received, her excuse was that they automatically order up a size if the bride is between sizes because their "samples don't represent real sizes because they get tried on too much and stretch out." However, the owner told me that they specifically ordered up a size because the type of dress I bought "doesn't have any give to it and will not stretch." Caught in a lie. Also, they changed my appointments several times. A week after I ordered my veil from them, I tried to cancel it because I found a less expensive and prettier one online...they refused to do it even though it took another few weeks for them to get my veil in. The seamstress they recommended was horrible as well - do not go to "I Do" Alterations ladies. Now, I'm not the kind of person who has ever written a review online, but I felt so strongly about this incident that I can't keep quiet. I tried discussing this incident and my feelings with the owner and she brushed them off saying their was nothing she could do. So not only did I buy the dress and veil from them, I have to pay hundreds of dollars to get my dress completely altered because Katie at Lovely Bride ordered the wrong size for me. Not only do I have to get a few inches on the sides taken in, but also hemmed, the bust taken in, the torso shortened, and the bust cups redone, which is going to take a damn good seamstress to do with all the lace. I honestly find it shocking that anyone could imagine writing a poor review of Lovely, because this place is seriously magical. I cannot say enough about Katie and Julia, they are legitimate bridal experts and both of them are highly accommodating, kind and considerate. The dress selection there is something you will not find anywhere remotely close to Rochester- don't even bother trying. It is very obvious that they have taken such careful time and consideration in curating stunningly beautiful, one of a kind dresses from extremely talented designers around the world. You WILL melt. The vibe at Lovely is focused on creating a whimsical experience for you, and trust me they deliver. It's in this gorgeous old home and the decor makes you want to just move in immediately. When I arrived before I even looked at dresses, Julia sat me down and said OK, tell me everything about your wedding and your future husband. THANK YOU! I went other places where nobody even acknowledged how the logistics of my wedding might play into the kind of dress I was looking for. Not here. This is like someone flew you to your own personal dress up day. After being truly listened to, I was guided to a variety of dresses that Julia already had in mind for me and I loved every single one of them- all I could think to myself was wow, it is so nice to be considered and cared for through this process. I found my dress that day! The selection is small for a reason. If you have started looking for your dress then you know by now that the vast selection at big places is completely overwhelming and lack luster. My experience with Lovely Bride started 6 + months before I ever had the opportunity to become a customer of theirs when I called the store on a whim to see if they could provide me with information about a skirt that Lovely Bride Houston posted on their social media back in 2018 (1.5 years prior to my phone call). I spoke with Julia, she knew exactly what I was talking about and was so willing to provide me all the details on the piece I was seeking even though at that time, they no longer carried the designer of the skirt. As a result of her knowledge, I found myself in Toronto Canada, the closest place to home to try on this particular skirt. I had a less than stellar experience at the Canadian Salon and found myself once again searching for a place to try the skirt on after the new year. Much to my surprise and delight, Lovely Rochester was listed as a retailer for the designer again. When I emailed I was told that they didn't have the particular piece that I was interested in IN the store but they quickly made arrangements to have it lent from the designer for me to try on. Julia ended up being my stylist when I went into the salon that day, she patiently put me in all different kinds of dresses until I felt comfortable saying yes to the dress that I'd tracked down in two separate places.
