I bought a ring (not from graeber) that needed to be sized. I took it in thinking they could size it down no problem. Wrong. Sat down with the woman and she immediately looked at the ring funny then went on to tell us that it wasn’t gold it was gold plated sterling silver. This immediately frightened us as we thought it was gold and paid the price of gold. The stamping on the inside of my ring is marked “585” rather than 14k, 585 means 14k gold but she told us the stamp said “329” meaning sterling silver. She went to the back to “talk to” the jeweler about what can possibly be done because she wasn’t sure if sterling silver could be sized. She came back telling us that there was basically nothing that we could do, she suggested we can switch the stones into a gold setting but it would cost $500+. She kept going back on her words saying the stones can’t be moved, but then saying that they could be moved. Then she told us well we might as well just buy a new ring from their store instead of spending more money to fix this ring, basically telling us our ring is worthless and should just be thrown in a drawer never to be worn. Through all of this she kept going in the back to “talk to” the jeweler, not sure why he couldn’t come out to speak with us himself. Needless to say we will never be coming back here again, we took it to another jeweler and had it sized within a day without question of the gold. I guess they need to study up and realize “14k” stamps are not international and there are other stampings...

I took my platinum engagement ring to Graeber Jewelers to be sized down by half of a size. When I returned to pick it up, the bottom half of my ring was much thinner than it originally was and it was not smooth at all. I was fortunate to bring it to another jeweler who was able to help with making it more even, but there is no way for my ring to be completely repaired without replacing the shank. I caution you - DO NOT bring any jewelry that you care about to Graeber. A simple half size down destroyed my brand new...
