tl;dr Family owned and operated They make gluten free food Offer cash discount on takeout Food is great, except for randomly ~1% of the time when it is not
They don't have a separate gluten free menu because they can make almost any of their dishes gluten free if you ask. They are very family friendly. If you don't like adorable small children occasionally "helping", maybe stick to take out. Personally, I find it to be a positive feature, but I can also understand why some would not. Then again, if you go to a family restaurant, you have to expect families.
I dinged them the one star because, while 99% of the time the food is great, every once in a while something falls very short, like shrimp in my house pad thai not being properly deveined. It's a shame too because I'm sure it's lost them some business. The frequency of issues I've had seems to fit with the percentage of bad reviews here. Given the seemingly random occurrences of bad food and the fact that this is a family owned and operated business, my current working theory is that there is a family member working in the kitchen that would be fired if they weren't family. That's largely speculation on my part though,...
Read moreAnd we still come regularly! We LOVE this little hidden gem! Our ONLY complaint is that they are not open later! We love the food so much, we recently celebrated a family B'day here. Their noodles and duck sauce on arrival is welcoming and always crispy, the pu pu platter is always tasty and fresh, their soups marvelous and steamy hot and if you enjoy wonton you will find delicately filled noodles, no chewy clumps here. The endless selection of entrees, Chinese, Thai, Japanese or vegetarian will suit any tastes, and they gladly adjust the spice or in my case create my dishes without mushrooms. Service is friendly, quick and your meal ends with fortune cookies and fresh orange slices. Portions will have you taking home enough for lunch the next day and speaking of lunch, GREAT deals if you can get here during their lunch hours! Cannot say enough about this little hidden gem! After living in NYC for several years, this is what I was missing after I moved home! For anyone new to Asian foods, their menu descriptions are accurate and the staff's (all family) English is excellent, so language is not an issue if you have questions. HIGHLY...
Read moreIf you scroll thru I have multiple reviews because I can't stop coming here. I also can't even get the chance to try any of their other dishes because I'm actually addicted to their pad Thai. I can't help but get it at least once a week and I have yet to be disappointed. The staff is very friendly and nice to interact with but WARNING do not do not do not try their extra spicy if you don't know what you're getting into. These guys pack amazing flavors but boy will they put you in your place if you get overconfident like I did. Dish was still absolutely delish but man could I not handle the heat they can bring to the table and I found out that I can sweat from my eyes lol. Love the pad Thai here I don't order anywhere else the blend of peanuts, lime and other ingredients is sublime, and in a portion far too large to finish in one sitting it's usually three meals for me. Also a local family owned business so it's easy to want to order here, do yourself a favor and give them a try if you like to go...
