I've been involved in the hobby my entire life, Rich (the owner) embodies the absolute best of our hobby. I moved to TC five years ago and have been going to his store once I found it ever since. Rich cares deeply about his customers and his integrity.
You won't find better prices on wax or singles as he will look up current prices on anything you ask and will comp below the going rate. Beyond that his store is a feast for the eyes, a candy shop for anyone who enjoys the hobby having been in business for so long. His wax selection (particularly in this day in age) and single selection is amazing and most importantly, diverse and goes back many years.
Rich is going to tell you how it is, he cuts to the chase and will tell you plenty of stories along the way. To me, he represents why the hobby shop is so important to our hobby. Going into a sports card shop should be an experience and Rich delivers in spades. He has loyal customers, that if you frequent enough, you'll also get to know. He treats every customer fairly and always ensures to take care of kids.
That said, it's also his business and rightfully, he won't put up with carelessness or those who believe they deserve different treatment from the rest, another reason I love supporting his business.
Whether or not you are looking for wax, singles, selling a collection, wanting to introduce someone to the hobby or simply want to have a place to go and talk shop, talk sports...Nothing But Sports is the place. The last few years has seen our hobby blow up into something much different. Rich and Nothing But Sports represents all of the good that the hobby has always provided.
The last few years Rich has provided me a space to forget about all of the craziness of the world and indulge in a hobby again, in an environment where all the other noise can fade away....
Read moreI have been coming to Nothing But Sports for over 20 years now (it used to be called Twines back in the day) and I absolutely LOVE this place! The owner (Rich) is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and just an all around good guy.
His selection is second to none, the store itself isn't huge but it's jam-packed with inventory from all (4) major sports. He also stocks a lot of single cards of the players from the; Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, and Lions. In addition to cards he also has a ton of other sports memorabilia as well.
The hobby of collecting cards has changed a lot over the last 20 years and nowadays everyone does a lot of their shopping online. I still prefer to buy my cards locally, from someone I trust and have been doing business with since I was a kid.
I always get a fair deal, and the prices are most often right in-line with what you can find them for online. Plus you get them right away and don't have to pay for shipping ;o)
One thing to keep in mind is that the price is not the only thing to consider, especially when your buying boxes of packs. One of the biggest concerns when buying cards online, is that you don't really know who your getting them from, or if the box has been "searched"?
If you have been collecting cards for a while, then I'm sure you are familiar with this. People actually weigh or even x-ray boxes/cases to find the "Big Hits"! I never have this concern, when I'm dealing with Rich.
Wherever he sources his inventory from, must be a reputable & trustworthy place as I have pulled some AMAZING, and extremely rare/valuable cards out of boxes that I have purchased...

I had a talk with these boys prior to entering the store to behave and not to break anything. My son grabbed a box and asked if I would get it for him (took him there for a reward from an academic award) and the guy working yelled at my boy and told him that if he knocked anything over, we would be buying everything. Being a dad, this concept is nothing new. I didn’t appreciate the bad attitude and scolding. My nephew leaned on the display case to take a closer look and he got scolded too. I used to collect with my dad when j was younger. These kids are the ones to keep the hobby alive. The shop had a good selection though. I inquired about a card that goes for $20 and he wanted to sell it for $50. Good place to get wax but bad place...
