My friend and I were excited about returning to Chicago Bar it had been a few years since our last visit. It started off with good vibes and friendly enviorment, we had a lot of fun and were enjoying the live band, it all changed when i asked for my tab and the bartender brought it to me but i was over charged and were some drinks on there we never ordered when i went to explain to the bartender of my bill his demeanor changed as well he picked up the coaters that were infront of us and were using them as a prop throwing them down at us saying now pay close attention , this is one drink so 4$, slams one down infront of my friend this is one drink so 4$ are you guys following me do you understand?? Picks the coasters back up does the same exact thing slams it down to the point they fly at us this makes another 4$ does same to friend again this makes another 4$ are we all still on the same page? Is it making sense to you yet .. i said no it still doesnt make sense i know how to do my math we had a total of 4 drinks together at 4$ that is 16$ my bill should of been 16$ not 24$ so he goes to the other bartender and she told him i only served them one drink each at that point he realized it was his mistake, we never got an apology for the harrasement and trying to make me feel dumb in a bar full of people.. oh and also instead of voiding out the bill for 24$ he charged me again for the 16$ so i had to fight with him on that to get it voided and a copy of the receipt. We will never return to a place that allows their employees to treat their customers with...
Read moreDon't go here. The bartender, Leah, stole $80 from me. I took my friend here about 1 a.m. and told Leah I was paying for his drinks for his birthday and this was made clear up front. At the end of the night she verified I was paying for his drinks but she used the word “tab”. I thought nothing of it as the words mean the same thing. Later the next day I saw the receipt and the charge and realized he didn’t have a “tab” only I did. She now claims this “tab” was carried over from a previous time (possibly from a different bar entirely), and she “took it over” and rolled it into my tab for the drinks we had while we were actually there. The drinks we actually ordered amounted to about $56 but she stacked an additional $80 from a tab she carried over. Apparently I'm not the only one this has happened to. She works Tuesday, Wednesday, and occasionally Friday, all nights. Until I get my money back and she no longer works there, I can't recommend the business as a safe and honest place. Such a shame in these tough financial times.
Edit: I was informed by Leah the bartender that I was “86’d” for asking for my money back and that decision was made by someone above her and subsequently ghosted by Kerwyn Lewis the manager and threatened by another patron friend of the bartender...
Read moreThis was the rudest bartender ever. I got my drink and was not happy so if asked the black bartender to remake it. He made it in the first place. So he then argued with me and told me he had been a bartender for 17 years. I told him my drink only had only tasted like juice. So then he then got very angry with me grab the bottle of gin and started pouring the Gin in my cup until it ran over. I then can not answering featuring because it was way too strong. So then I put my drink on my tab on my credit card and I left the bar for getting my card and forgetting to check out. So I came back that's within 15 minutes of realizing that my card was gone I saw the black man and his buddy bartender behind the bar Whispering about me he kept going back and forth to the girl talking about me the woman asked me if I wanted to leave a tip and I explained to her I absolutely do not want to leave a tip because of the room service the man had given me. So as she brought this slip over for me to sign it she then threw it on the bar and walked away very rudely. I explain to her how rude she was and that's exactly reason why I was not leaving a tip because her and her buddy were talking about me. I would never step foot in this place again and don't recommend for...
