Great, except for the noise level
This was my first visit to this new location of Seis Kitchen on Tanque Verde Rd. I've eaten many times at the Mercado and River road locations in the past.
They've done a great job of remodeling the old Millie's Pancake House space. The interior space is fresh with lots of natural light coming in from plentiful windows.
After ordering at the counter and taking a table, our food was delivered promptly. All three of us enjoyed our meals, great food! I had the Ensalada Mixto with Poc Chuc grilled chicken. It was fresh and tasted great. One of my friends had shrimp tacos and the other a burro option which they enjoyed as well.
We arrived for a late lunch at around 1:30pm, so maybe a third of the tables were occupied. All three of us were surprised at the mid-afternoon noise level -- a combination of other conversations and the background music, which made it challenging for us to have normal table conversations. Several times during our visit one or another of us would comment "man, it's surprisingly loud in here". It must be even noisier during peak dining periods.
This location just recently opened, so hopefully they can do something to get the noise level more under control -- perhaps a combination of some sound baffling and lowering the volume of background music.
Plenty of parking, nice (but noisy) interior space as well as an exterior patio area. Very clean.
I enjoyed my meal and plan to return. It's great to finally have a Seis Kitchen on the east...
Read moreAs we entered we weren’t greeted but treated like we had to wait for the 2 women at the counters’ conversation to end. It being our first time at the Tanque Verde location I expected better customer service. I asked how to order . Menu’s were placed awkwardly to my left. 5 of us were there for breakfast to celebrate my mother’s bday. We continued with the awkward greeting into the unknown of their awkward service procedures. We were all given glasses to apparently get fountain drinks from the fountain we didn’t know was there. My glass was dirty. Cashier hostess spitefully grabbed it from me and we settled on a to go cup. I asked if they had table service and cashier/hostess said No. The food came and all our food was dry . We had to ask for silverware that seemed to much to ask for, from the already pissed off cashier/hostess. I briefly spoke to the manager and she was just as flippant. The atmosphere was like an immense chipotle cafeteria. This restaurant lacks warmth, friendliness , and prices are unreasonable since you have to advocate for yourself and food is sub par. I’ll give this location a two at best....
Read moreI was disappointed with this location. I eat at the seis in oracle all the time and was excited for this location near my house. I always order the surf n turf burrito and my girlfriend gets the nachos with steak. I was really disappointed because we waited 20-25 minutes and when they brought the food out it was barely warm almost cold and dry. I’m not sure if they forgot about our order, also my burrito was mostly just surf. I’m not sure if they were having a bad day or something, but I most likely won’t be coming back to this location and I’ll just be going to the other 2.
I wanted to add I went to the oracle location a week after this Tanque verde experience and the food at oracle is 1000x better, go...
