I have been a customer since the arrival of 2nd Amendment in Tucson. I have purchased numerous firearms from special order, new and used. I purchase at least one firearm during the spring and fall three day events and at least one or two the rest of the year. This includes optics, ammo and sporting accessories.
I have always had scopes mounted at the store and it has always been free as long as either the firearm or scope were purchased from 2nd Amendment. During my last purchase at the fall event, I was told the gunsmith was backed up and was assured if I came back later that the mounting of a scope would still be free because I bought the firearm from 2nd Amendment.
When I went into 2nd Amendment to have a scope mounted, I was surprised to see only two other customers in the store and four employees on the floor. When I asked to have a scope mounted, I was questioned about the origin of purchases. I told the employee the rifle was purchased from the store but not the scope. He replied that the charge would be $20 and I questioned if the policy and promise I had received last month was no longer valid. The employee walked around the store and went into the back office area to talk with someone else. He then returned and said the cost will now be $40. I guess that’s what you get when you question 2nd Amendment’s policies and guaranteed promises.
Now I understand policies at a store do change over times but would expect a promise of a service be honored at the time of a purchase. I would have considered paying the $20 but when I got quoted $40, I was flabbergasted how things changed at the store in just one month. Think about it, Cabela’s and Sportsman’s Warehouse mount scopes free no matter where the purchase was made. For failing to honor you word, I will give Sportsman’s Warehouse or Cabela’s my business from now on. They have a good selection of firearms and will special order. For used firearms I will now do my purchases with Murphy’s in Tucson or Cabela’s in Glendale. They always get it right and enjoy my business.
This may seem like small potatoes to 2nd Amendment but after all is said and done, you won’t see me in your store again. I can assure you that others will hear about the lack of customer service and guarantees that go unhonored.
Now that I think about it, maybe that’s why there were only two customers in the store when I arrived. It already started.
Reviewer’s Reply - Just answer the review concerns. Do you no longer mount scopes on firearms unless you buy the gun, scope and rings from 2nd Amendment? Did your employee provide me bad information when he said 2nd Amendment would mount a scope free of charge when I purchased a firearm from you last month? Why the difference in charge from $20 to $40? Was this just a case of another uninformed employee? Please clearly spell out your store’s policy for mounting scopes on firearms and the cost. Please spell out how your store will handle customers after an employee provides them false information. I’m sure others looking at your replies would like to know the answers.

Read moreAfter a ruined day due to bad weather I was bound and determined to make the best of a bad situation. I called the shop to continue my search for a shotgun in a style I have been pining after for quite some time. I mashed the 0 button quickly to avoid auto attendant and was immediately transferred to a reassuring human voice. After asking to speak to a person in firearms I was immediately enchanted by an array of patriotic songs. I just knew this was going to be the day my long search ends. I spoke to an employee in the firearms department that immediately understood my desire and type of shotgun I have been pining over. The employee informed me that unfortunately the shotgun which I most desire is not available in the shop. I was however relieved to be informed that there was an array of similar shotguns that may well suite my desires. After I was provided a description of one such shotgun most would drool over I immediately headed to the shop determined to find the newest addition to my collection. I waded through the crowd of people determined to meet the new addition of my collection undoubtedly. I eventually arrived to the back of the store, there she hung on the wall in all of her glory. I knew it was love at first sight the shotgun I had been looking for all of these years. I had never seen black steel shine so brightly before. Every nut and bolt were finely polished and in just the right location. I immediately knew I had found the one I have been searching for all this time. I examined every detail as surely there must be some mistake yet nothing seemed out of place that is until my eyes came across the price sticker. The dark clouds had rolled in and I immediately knew I had better run fast before I make a decision that would surely cost me more than the sticker price. Triple my budget I knew I would surely pay in more than one way if she was adopted that day I casually looked around than made my way to the door knowing If I got to hold her I would surely be divorced by the end of the day. I would like to truly than the assistance and professionalism of all of the employees that allowed me to view that gun which I most desire and gave me the hope and reassurance that one day in the future I may be able to obtain such a fine piece...
Read moreI started visiting and buying items ($50-$850) from here within the last 6-8 weeks. It started out great, the staff was helpful and freindly. However, over the last several visits it seemed that the staff became more unfriendly and could care less about the customer. Today, I inquired about doing a layaway on a rifle, I was told abruptly and stirly "NO!" After I asked about the layaway the salesman (very old man) wanted the rifle back, so he could assist another customer, as he said "That is actually buying a gun today!" With an attitude like that I decided I would not buy from them. I went over to look at the reloading presses, and a younger salesman with curly hair (looks like he has not combed his hair for a long time), asked if I had any questions. I mentioned about the place not doing layaway anymore, and he started lecturing me about how layaway's make them lose money, how its a waste of time and money, and kept lecturing me about business, like he is the 18 version of a tycoon! I go to a gun shop to buy guns, not to listen to some kid lecture me about business. About a month ago, I found a rare find of a rifle, the staff at the gun counter (next to the register) told me that a transfer fee would be $100! Are you kidding me? I thought I found a decent gun shop, but what I found was a rip off shop! Without customers, there will be no gun shop! I thought a gun shop named after the 2nd Amendment would be a patriotic store, not what this place seems to be! Needless to say, I will not be shopping here, and I will be shopping elsewhere! Seems more like Walmart...
