This was highly disappointing. I love supporting local and rarely leave reviews but this experience was not good and really bothered me.
I arrived a bit after 12:15 (on Saturday 3/4) and besides for a small table of four at the front, I was the only other person in the restaurant for the majority of my time there. I had to ask three times to get a glass of water (the person who finally brought me my water wasn’t the waiter I started with but the fella who brought me my food), and the servers came to my table four times: to take my drink order, take my food order, clear the table, and bring me my bill. The place was far from busy until my last ten minutes when three other tables came in. My water was never refilled nor was I asked if I wanted another beer. Just getting my first beer took a bit and all they had to do was open it.
The food was good; I ordered the Tacos de Birria. The cooks went a little heavy on the cilantro but it was still pretty good.
But for the majority of my visit I was the only person in the restaurant and the staff rarely checked in. I made sure both my empty glasses were in front of me and never once were they offered to be refilled.
After having read the other reviews, maybe I came on an off day, but this was far from impressive. I am so disappointed and upset with the...
Read moreFound this little gem when I had a doctor's appointment on the east side and I can't wait to go back. I live far northwest side, and I'll be more than willing to make the drive! The dining room is spotless and comfortable. There are plenty of tables, so large groups could easily be accommodated. We were there at lunch and it wasn't terribly busy, so the young man behind the counter handled all of the table service and to go orders. He was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. He suggested the Albondigas for my wife, which is one of her favorite soups. She proclaimed it "perfect". Tender meatballs, spot-on seasoning, and served piping hot. They have four soups to choose from which will be appreciated as the weather cools off. I couldn't choose between the chicken mole enchiladas and the birria soup, so I ordered the enchiladas and got the soup to go. 😋😂 The chicken in the enchiladas was shredded and well seasoned. The sauce was a bit sweet and worked well with the chicken. My wife isn't usually a fan of mole but she really liked this dish. The service was really good and portions were generous, but not ridiculously large. I highly recommend Pochas! We'll be...
Read moreAMAZING FOOD! I live on Pima St. in apartments east of there, and I saw this little neighborhood place and wanted to check it out. I love patronizing mom and pop places (not chains). I was PLEASANTLY PLEASED. I do not have a menu in front of me, but I can tell you it's the spicy shrimp. Comes with rice & beans I think. IT'S TO DIE FOR. I got it to go, but I think next time I'm just going to eat in there and hang out. It's so cute on the inside and very clean and staff is super-friendly and polite. Prices are reasonable, too. There is so much on the menu I want to check out I can't make my mind up for next time. There was a gentleman in there eating, and I asked him what he got and he said he got the fajitas, which smelled AMAZING. I asked him how they were and he said they were super-tender and delicious. He said he frequents there since they opened because the food is the best. I could tell he goes there a lot because they acted...
