We are close to everything – nearly half of Tucson's major shopping, medical, dining and retail centers are less than two miles away.

Or you can stay busy without leaving home.

Weekdays and Saturdays offer three to six activities in our Tiki House and Activity Building. Or you can luxuriate in our shaded, salt-water swimming pool after playing shuffleboard, billiards, ping pong, bingo or poker.

Our shuffleboard team competes in local tournaments. Our well-equipped work-out room sports a full range of exercise equipment. We have a ceramic shop with kiln. Neighbors meet for yoga several times a week and Aquasize daily. Multiple walking groups tour the community. The Activity Building also houses our library, with a growing collection of books, videos and DVDs free for members' use. There is at least one community book club, two singing/theatrical troupes, poker, bingo, pinochle and a full range of worship fellowships.

Neighbors meet every Wednesday morning for coffee and doughnuts and monthly for potluck dinners, often featuring theatrical and musical entertainment from our talented neighbors.

Far Horizons members are also good neighbors active in Tucson community organizations, working with the local food bank or volunteering in other ways.

Far Horizons unique major advantage is that members not only own their manufactured homes individually but also own the corporation controlling the land on which they sit. Our OWN non-profit co-operative corporation owns and operates this entire 23 acre community with all its amenities. Our modest monthly fees cover operating expenses, taxes, upkeep and maintenance of our beautiful community, plus water from our own grandfathered well. Our very affordable fees also cover weekly trash pickup and monthly hazardous waste collection.

There is great peace of mind in owning. As one of our neighbors puts it: "I more and more appreciate ownership. A good friend in a local rental park with NO amenities tells me she has a bargain rate at $480 a month." Far Horizons' all-inclusive monthly fees are about $200. Competing communities boasting fees hundreds of dollars higher are often just rents without management rights or ownership participation in the land. Their assessments also often do not cover the range of services and activities Far Horizons enjoys, and landlords are always free to raise fees or to even sell the property.

In addition to being within a mere 2 miles of a vast variety of community resources, one can walk to the ever-popular, and multi-faceted "Crossroads Festival", as well as saunter over to "our" Trader Joe's (a block away). Nice place, lots of amenities for residents - one thing I learned where here with real estate guy looking at used homes, was that any pets here have to be emotional support or service pets - so be sure to get that documentation if you're thinking of moving here
