Long time coming but it crossed my mind so better late than never… This review should’ve been posted summer 2024.
So I’ve done several layaways here in the past and was always told each payment made extended it another 30 days. Suddenly, with a kayak layaway I had, I was called and told the opposite. When I asked about what I thought was a policy change, the manager, Peyton, snapped back with attitude and even made a snarky comment about the $600 worth of Yeti coolers and camping gear I had just purchased OFF layaway. Hard to imagine why a grown man in a management role would get sassy with a paying customer for… making a big purchase?
In the end, I lost the money I had down because the “policy” seemed to change depending on Peyton’s mood that day. He called while I was 8hrs away for a week on vacation, saying come in and make a payment or get it off layaway. (I had just made a payment before leaving on vacation) I told him I’d come in after I got back but due to exhaustion I didn’t make it in, came in and filled out a forfeit layaway request for the money back and never got it. I can handle losing money but being sassed by a man at his big age and seeing as he was seemingly annoyed by my business... I haven’t been back for any reason since then and will...
Read moreWe came out to this store looking for kayaks. We were approached by what I'm assuming is the manager (white female, brunette, light blue/grey shirt and black pants) and she asked us if we could take our backpacks to our car (my partner had a small sling bag) because they had a lof of theft at some point and the thieves were putting stuff in their bags. We obliged, she apologized that it was a pain to do but thanked us. We put our bags in the truck as we weren't finished looking and came back in. The cashier boys kept eyeing us as if we had 3 heads. How about I counted 4 women that walked in after us that had purses and one with a black polka dot backpack on. The female manager was literally assisting the person with the polka dot backpack with a basketball pump and didn't tell her she needed to take her bag to the car. So, were we profiled? Discriminated against? Nothing was posted on the doors as you entered. Both cashiers, a small white haired older lady and a male associate in hunting passed us before this manager approached us and said something. Lmao. If its something you're enforcing your staff should be aware as well....
Read moreIf I could give it a negative 5 stars I would.. we were Discriminated against and was treated like we were being a inconvenience my wife and I are frequent shoppers here and I am a GM at gateway in Shelbyville .. .. we asked to look at a shotgun and was told we must fill out some forms first and provide a id .. as to be expected the gun was a little long for her so she asked to see another gun .. that's when we were asked if we were buying the gun or not then before we could answer she turned away then refused to talk to us.. so we went to the front counter to talk to someone about what happened. then was told that they would not give me a corporate number or any of there names. Thank the Lord I recorded the whole in ordeal . This was completely unacceptable and should be told to the world that this is how Dunham's in Tullahoma treats the customers.. treated like it's a problem to do their job. I expect a response immediately or I will be contacting my lawyer to show my recording and how we were treated and total discrimination...
