Waffle House — Restaurant in Tullahoma

Hailey was our server and she was amazing!! The black lady that cooked our food did a great job on the food. However, she has the worst personality towards everyone that walks through the door and to the servers. It began when I walked through the doors. I smiled/acknowledged her and she never spoke or smiled back. She looked as though she hated her job and that customers were just a nuisance. After she finished cooking our food, she sat down to play on her phone. When more customers came in, she sat there on her phone while Hailey had to call the order to her there. She looked mad to have to work, then stood up and shoved her chair in loud. Right in front of the customers that had just placed their order. Another employee that was off duty came in to ask a different younger sever if she would like to let her have the weekend shift. While they were discussing it, the cook turned around (in front of a pretty much packed house at that moment) and talked down to the younger server and making a scene when it already sounded like the two employees had already worked the shift situation out. You could tell that both employees were caught off guard and embarrassed by the cooks actions. The cook then called the younger server out about not assisting the customer that just sat down at the counter and was waiting patiently. She did this loud enough everyone could hear. This cook definitely needs retrained on what is acceptable behavior in front of the public and how to be a better team player/teacher to those working with her. I hate to leave a negative review because Hailey was such an awesome server and the only one to speak when coming through the door. However, no one should have to work with that amount of disrespect. Especially in front of customers!!...

I ordered a medium rare steak and 4 sunny side up eggs. They brought me a plate with my four eggs and just runny whites all over it. I love sunny side up with raw yolk but it was more like a soup. The steak was way over cooked for medium rare I didn't see any red. I normally wouldnt say anything about just a steak being over or under cooked cause its always good either way for me I just like medium rare. The egg soup was just disgusting. I just got done doing a 48 hour fast and the eggs where so bad I didn't even eat them all even though I was starving. The service was slow on refills and didn't even ask how the food was. (Id say cause they probably already knew it was bad). The atmosphere was fine but there where only 3 parties in there and they had at least 3 maybe 4 workers. You think the service would be better with almost no one in there at 5 pm in the afternoon. I've left a review here in the past with 5 stars but I can see they have different employees now. Hopefully management can address this issue and either train better cooks or hire better ones. I really loved waffle house but im not going back there after that mess. My son and I went have breakfast this morning. The hostess took our name down and then walked off. Then we sat in some chairs waiting patiently for a booth to open up. Mind you they were busy but that's no excuse. She was sitting people that had just walked through the door while at least 3 other families were waiting. She also asked one of those families if they would like a table or a booth that had gotten there way after us. So I'm a very patient person but when I seen that she was totalling ignoring us I asked her if we could have a booth please and explained that I had seen her seat others walking through the door while we had to sit and wait. Her response was as soon as one becomes available. I then told her that there had plenty available before but you never offered to seat us. She FINALLY got us our booth but I came so close to getting up and going to the other Waffle House in Manchester. However my son said that he would rather wait. Our waitress was fantastic! Everything was clean and our food was really good!! So please find another hostess sufficiently and me more attentive to the customer's need.
