I took a barely cracked Pixel 7 screen to be repaired here. After the repair, I quickly noticed that the fingerprint authorization no longer worked. I called back and was told this was an Android bug that happened sometimes after screen replacement. There was no offer to look at the phone again, just a quick âit happens and is a problem with the manufacturer.â I looked it up and found that the fingerprint issue was fixed in previous phone models, but I decided to live with just using my PIN to login.
A few weeks later, I spilled a very small amount of lukewarm coffee on my phone and cleaned it immediately. It was obvious that the liquid resistance offered by the Pixel 7 had been ruined, along with the fingerprint, when the screen was replaced incorrectly. The phone was rendered completely useless from a tiny spill.
I went in hoping to get a refund for my initial $200 spent on the repair (much less the cost of a replacement phone). Instead, I was offered $30 off of yet another $200 repair. I was also told I needed to âtake responsibility for spilling my coffeeâ and that the owner (I presume) had his costs to worry about.
So according to this businessâŚ
The phone doesnât offer a software feature after repair? It is Googleâs fault for not fixing a bug that they did in fact already fix.
The phone doesnât provide the factory offered liquid resistance after repair? It is the ownerâs fault for spilling liquid.
I hate to push for the chain-owned shops, but I highly recommend using a Google authorized repair shop that offers a warranty on their work. Google lists them for Tulsa on their phone store website.
The authorized shop I took it to next didnât try to sell me a (barely discounted) $200 screen repair that was past its usefulness, they properly advised me to make an insurance claim and get a new phone. Barely cracked screen to a ruined phone in a just few weeks thanks to Cellular Repair & Exchange | Smartphone & Mobile...
Read moreSo last year when our tablet screen broke the guys did a really good job fixing it and taking the air bubble out of the screen. Recently I broke my phone screen and the repair was really cheap and they also replaced the stylus for my phone. Only problem im having is that ever since my phone was fixed the camera won't work. Idk if it's on their half but it worked before I had it repaired and now it won't work at all. Thats my only issue but otherwise they do a really great job on repairs at a fair price :)
Edit: These guys absolutey are dedicated to their job! After my screen was replaced the front camera didn't work and I took it in. They replaced both cameras but then both cameras didn't work. They replaced the screen again and now my phone works perfectly! Definitely check these guys out if you ever need a repair on your phone...
Read moreI used Cellular Repair & Exchange a few years ago for a replacement Samsung Tab screen. Every other place in town I called wanted to charge more than a new one ($200-250) and told me I had to have the digitizer replaced as well as the screen, even though the digitizer continued to work fine. I called Cellular Repair & Exchange, and not only did they not try to force me into accepting services that were not needed, they also worked with me on ordering the part and having the work done on my timetable.
And here I am a few years later needing a screen and digitizer replacement on my teenager's phone. And yet again Cory and the folks at Cellular Repair are still amazing, still giving great customer service, and still working with my timetable to get this done quickly. I am definitely a...
