Let me be blunt: the manager named Zach is an egotistical and rude individual. Heās probably just at the 21st & Yale location temporarily for training, since he normally manages the 91st & Memorial gym. But that doesnāt excuse the way he treated me.
I approached him about a $2 charge that showed up on my card after I left the gym, even though I never actually got the drink I was trying to buy. I literally showed him the transaction and said, āHey, do you know why this $2 charge popped up when I never purchased anything?ā He flat-out told me, āThat wasnāt from us.ā I pointed right at the screen where it clearly said āCrunch Fitness Mid Tulsa,ā and only then did he say heād have to call the payment processors to get it reimbursed.
I want to be clear, I wasnāt even looking for a reimbursement; I just wanted to understand why it happened. After that frustrating exchange, I spoke to Toby, who was the person who originally tried to help me with the payment issue. Toby was fantastic, he has great customer service and actually took the time to help.
Zach, on the other hand, is exactly the opposite. And we know this isnāt new, heās the same way we remember him being at the 91st & Memorial location. Iāve dealt with him in the past, so itās clear this is just who he is, an egotistic man who lets his attitude get in the way of good customer service. Im even leaving this review with the expectation that Zach may be rude to us in the future, because his ego says heās the type who would more than likely try to retaliate after he sees this. That just proves the kind of energy he puts out.
As a business owner myself, I would never want someone like that managing my business. Hopefully the gym takes this seriously, the rest of the staff is decent. But Zachās ego needs a reality check.
Also When you respond to this, please donāt ask me to email you in regards to this situation. Thereās plenty of reviews of 91st and Memorial crunch about Zach that you guys should take more seriously. Also, if I wanted to make a complaint about Zach and went to the gym to do that that complaint would be made to Zach, I believe crunch fitness needs to make it a little bit easier to get a hold of district managers for situations like this because if I was to complain about Zach to Zach, we know he wouldn't let the district manager know and thatās why Iām leaving this review in hopes that someone higher up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHere is my full honest review: Classes are phenomenal, worth the extra fee for sure but difficult to book in the app (you have to book 22 hours in advance and spots fill up quickly). I have never worked my core so hard before! No mats provided though, which is nice because I find that more sanitary! Everything is kept very clean, but some members fail to clean up after themselves. Not really the gymās problem though. Amenities are great: red light therapy with vibration plates (bring your own eye protection), showers, saunas are separated by gender (thank you crunch!!!), lots of great equipment, and the AIR CONDITIONING god bless you crunch. The music is way too loud, and itās one of those awful remix playlists (itās different depending on what time of the day it is, and the loudest music comes from the group classes- I wish the hot room was more sound proof so it could be more peaceful). An abundance of clean lockers, but again, bring your own lock. Very friendly and helpful staff, and outstanding guest privileges!! Plenty of parking The personal training sessions are great, I learned a lot! I didnāt have the budget for a plan, but if I do in the future, I know who to do to! They werenāt pushy in trying to sell it to me when I said I would think over it! Alicia, Alicia, Alicia!! If she had classes everyday I would be a more frequent gym-goer for sure. She is so good at giving instructions, teaching form, and making everyone feel comfortable and confident!! If you havenāt taken a class with her, youāre certainly missing out! If stars were more detailed, this gym would be a...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePros: Love the variety of equipment. The employees are nice. My friend told me there's a place to fill up your water bottle so I'll have to check that out. My 4yr old seemed to enjoy kid's crunch. I like the way the locker rooms are set up. Love red light machines but I didn't use these ones yet Cons: The music is too loud. I shouldn't have to raise my voice & lean in for someone next to me to hear me. I forgot my earbuds at home but I'm not even sure it'd be tolerable to use them with the loud music in the background. No spray tanning. We all know regular tanning beds are harmful. This location is conveniently near my house. I don't want to have to drive across town to use a spray tan machine. Also, my 4yr old has a cold & the only place she could've gotten it from is this gym. I saw a piece of paper in an odd location with guidelines for illness symptoms. My concern is that it either it isn't enforced, the parents don't see it, the toys/room isn't disinfected enough, or maybe it's too lenient. Also the paper towels for equipment are too thin & inefficient. There's also too many people not cleaning machines, as well as people that have BO. They could put up more signs or something. Maybe complimentary disposable deodorant wipes in the locker rooms. It doesn't help that it was too hot. There isn't a lot of air flow, which might've made it tolerable Edit: I might be told I have to pay $3 every time to visit the other gym? I hope not because I have the membership that says I have access to every gym & it doesn't...
