I want to first start by saying I’ve been to this same staples multiple times for the exact same thing which is getting work materials laminated, and by far this was the worst experience yet. I can usually handle people being in a bad mood, or even not smiling, but when it gets to the point to where in six trips to the same place there’s not one smiling face behind the counter becomes a problem. The gentleman behind the counter his name was Alec, and right from the start he had an attitude, and for whatever reason was trying to fight my grammar right off the bat. Generally not a good idea to try and belittle your customer ( especially when the problem is the employee not listening the first time. ), but that was not the worst part of the situation. I had four pieces of paper that needed to be laminated, just four, now the other guy that used to work here would have it done in less than 10 minutes, this guy tries telling me the earliest I could have it done with a ridiculous extra cost attached Would be no less than one hour, so he told me at regular cost I can pick it up tomorrow. He also try telling me he had a bunch of things he was working on. When I walked in he wasn’t doing a single thing. When I asked him if Staples is losing a lot of business with this new set-up he laughed and said “Yup!” Alec, I hope you don’t carry the same attitude throughout the rest of your career, weather at Staples or anywhere else. My request was very simple and it was insulting you told me it was going to take until tomorrow to get it done unless I wanted to pay a crazy price for it when you were standing behind the counter doing nothing when I walked in. Staples, if this really is your new way of doing business you may want to reconsider how you’re doing your business, also you need to find people who want to do their job that people who want to collect a paycheck. It’s the difference in customer service keeps people...
Read moreI have sent in my business cards to be printed several times over the last few years. I've been using the Staples on 71st since I first opened my small business in 2018. They have never let me down on speed, quality, and professionalism. Recently, however, my business number changed and I added some details to my order. I had called when they were extremely busy, reminding them to keep an eye out for my cards. I'm sure that in the confusion of being extremely overwhelmed by customers- and seeing that I am a regular customer that rarely (if ever) changes my order- the wrong cards were printed. (they look the EXACT SAME except for a number and a small image) When I got the cards I felt like I had made a mistake, so I ran home to double check my order. Without calling, emailing, or meeting with an employee, I had decided to return to the store the next day to resolve the issue. Once I arrived at the front desk, Alec saw my bag of cards and asked me if I was Laura. I said "oh wow- yes!" and he said my new cards were being printed as we spoke and that they would exchange them no questions asked. I was so relieved not to have to argue or explain myself or deal with the uncertainty of not having cards this week. I can't even express how grateful I am for Alec's preparedness, professionalism and work ethic. I'm sure that my order was put at the top of the workload for the day and that Alec had to work even harder to fix a mistake anyone could have made. I truly appreciate his attitude and determination.
Thank you staples, and thank you...
Read moreI bought a gaming chair and the sales associate recommended I purchase insurance for it for $20. He said even if it tears or the arms break the insurance will cover it and they will deposit the original amount for the chair in your bank the next day. This was a year ago. I bought another gaming chair for my daughter because she liked mine and needed a new one. The sales associate sold me on the insurance again stating the same thing, "the money will be deposited into your account the next day". This is false, I made a claim on my chair. They give you a gift card to staples not money back. That's fine I said. Well my gift card didn't work, I tried to make an order and they wouldn't approve it. It took me 2 hours and four CSRs who I could could barely understand to get through to a manager who then had to replace the order himself and the he said I will send you a $20 courtesy coupon. I tried to use the coupon today and it was already used the site said. Apparently the manager used that coupon on my original order and didn't say so. My gift card would of covered the amount so I am not sure why he used it.
TLDR: Don't purchase the insurance unless you want to receive the amount back in a gift card and...
