I personally believe in equality for all people which is one of the reasons I decided to build a website for OKEQ / Equality Business Alliance at a 50% discount. I actually did quite a few things for free as well. I built a website for OKEQ / EBA and everything worked just fine and was approved (I have the email to show anyone that wants to see it) by Shane Allbee who was my contact at OKEQ while building the website. Toby Jenkins said the website did not work and said he is not going to pay for it and that we are done. I was extremely surprised to hear this and replied, it has been tested and Shane even approved it, so lets go through the website so you can show me your concerns. He said about 5 times in a row "WE ARE DONE" and refused to discuss anything.
Shane Allbee was nice but very hard to deal with during production and sometimes would not return my emails and calls up to 2 months. This is the reason the project took so long to complete. Mr. Allbee was suppose to send an email out to all OKEQ EBA members on how to login for the first time but he never sent one out which caused a lot of confusion.
They are saying that all functions were not complete. I asked them to look at the signed agreement and tell me which ones have not been completed. They have not answered this in 5 months.
Also, OKEQ has members that are attorneys at McAfee & Taft, so if they decide not to pay a bill, they can just ask them to fight it. So I am pretty much out of luck on getting paid unless I hire an attorney and take...

We would appreciate seeing the website and FB page updated - especially programs, activities, events, services, calendar, and contacts. We also feel that all staff should be on the same page when it comes to customer service and interacting with the public, potentially with training, on providing warm greetings, offering information, asking if the customer has any questions, and ensuring staff who are forward facing are informed about events and expectations to share etc.
Thanks for all you do OKEQ staff and volunteers!
Pros: Provides many wonderful much needed services in our community. Good parking Located downtown, not too far from popular destinations Great space offering a lounge area, art gallery, store (with snacks!) meeting rooms, library, etc
Cons: When we visited the center, staff member was professional, but not particularly friendly/ welcoming There was no music playing (sad face lol)
Suggestions: The lounge space: music, board games, wifi password posted, cute/ funny welcoming signs
The art gallery: An interactive activity like voting on a "People's Choice"
Through out the facility: A scavenger hunt for visitors to do to learn more about the space/ building/ offerings/ opportunities/needs/ how to donate, etc.
Thank you for all you do!...
Read moreThere is great history yes, but disappointing and unfortunate now This has been decades of humiliation for the LGBTQIA+ Community itself here in Tulsa Oklahoma. This organization can have a calendar full of events for visibility but the purpose of this organization doesn't even acknowledge thier own mission statement. There is no amount of education that can teach or change this particular organization. This particular Organization and situation is ran by a Board, or group. Reaserching you will find more information, the best term to use is old money. Thats the only reason that building still stands and operates. Every letter, name, flag, light needs to be removed and made a Memorial Ground and dedicate it back to the LGBTQIA+ Community that pumped life in that building. The only thing great is the Clinic which could stand alone and the nurse is such a phenomenal person. The groups that are held there help so many people in the LGBTQIA+ Community. So...
