I don't know if someone was having a bad day or what but it was not a nice experience. This was our first and last visit here. My friend and I had some items to sell that we've had for a while and wanted to see what a pawn shop could offer before trying to sell online. I also had a good amount of scrap gold but was not going to mention that unless I felt okay with how things progressed. The person working the day we went was very condescending and basically acted as if we were bothering him. I don't know his name because he never told us or if he is a regular employee there. Both of us noticed how rough he was in handling the items. Several times I thought he was going to cause damage. I've never seen a potential buyer handle items as carelessly as he did. All his comments were negative, not one positive comment about any of our items. We also had an item which we had recently received a good offer due to the weight from another place so we knew beforehand what it should bring. My friend wanted to see what he would offer as he already knew the weight and the minimum that should be offered. We both noticed that he did not mention the weight of any item or how he was determining the value of it. After about 1-2 minutes of tossing everything around while making disparaging comments, he made an offer for all the items without explaining how he came to that amount. It was actually less than HALF of what my friend had been quoted for just ONE of the items. We were both shocked and my friend told him he has already been offered over double that amount for just one item. He actually got angry at this point and became even ruder than before. The story does have a happy ending though. We went a short distance up the road to Crosstown, which BTW everyone recommended when we mentioned we were going to try pawn shops. The experience was like night and day. In the end, we ended up doing business with Crosstown and we received pretty much what we wanted for the items there. I also got rid of the scrap gold for more than I expected that same day as well. So, my experience with City Pawn of Tupelo was very unpleasant, unwelcoming and uncomfortable. I want to further state that we went to several pawn shops and a jeweler. The employee at City of Pawn was the only one that was rude and disrespectful. And we received the lowest offer...

They have some stuff in there that I sometimes...
Read moreI always enjoy dealing with Evan especially on knives. This is the only authorized microtech dealer in the area and they have great prices. I have looked at all of the major online retailers and Evan is at least $20 cheaper usually more than that. If you are looking for a great deal on a high end knife look no further...
