The only employees in this place worth their salt are the tailors! And the two that are there can barely speak English, which really speaks volumes about the other lackadaisical employees. The tailors are really good though, and they are the only reason I come into this dreadful place.
The other employees general demeanor, service time, knowledge of their merchandise, and overall zeal is severely lacking. It is certainly clear they are just going through the motions, and doing it quite poorly I might add.
Aside from this my two chief complaints are that wait times are ridiculously long. This is due to the employees general laziness, and lack of knowledge of their own systems and what their job duties are. In two words they are lazy and lack proficiency. They just don't know how to do their jobs, and really they don't care to learn or do it well either.
My second complaint is less serious, but personally frustrating and quite frankly I find it rude and uncouth. One male employee in there is quite young and apparently believes it is acceptable to refer to customers as "man," "bro" or "dude." All the employees do this in some form, but he is a serial violator. I am not up on a pedestal by no means, but the correct way to address me is sir. I am your customer, not your friend and certainly not your peer. Simply because we appear to be close in age does by no means mean we are equals, your assumption of such colloquial equality between us is a mistake on your part. Seriously, by the way this guy talks to me you'd think we'd been "bro's for years."
This insolence and ineptitude is a result of these employees failure to be raised correctly of course, but more directly a failure on the Mens Wearhouse leadership to teach their employees the correct way to conduct themselves in a professional environment. All of this particular locations issues are because of a poor manager, who is clearly failing to whip her employees into shape, and get rid of the ones who cannot conform.
In short, I dread coming in here because of the terrible employees, and I only bear the dreadful experience because the tailors do their job so well. The tailors are currently...
Read moreIf I could rate zero stars, I would. This was The WORST experience and WORST customer service I’ve dealt with. Went in months before our wedding to set up the men’s tuxes.. when we went in we brought a color swatch to match the ties/bow ties to the bridesmaid dresses. I was told they would be the perfect match. Fast forward to wedding week, a groomsmen called my husband and I and told us he received his tux. I asked to see the bow tie. They gave us an ugly BROWN color.. mind you the dress color was terracotta (rust orange). So it did NOT match. After talking to multiple rude employees, and the EXTREMELY RUDE manager I was told they did not carry a color to “match” our bridesmaid dresses (This was 4 days before the wedding.)… I was recommended to order ties/bow ties that matched the suits.. I said ok because we needed something. The manager said they would look GREAT.
Another day went by and more groomsmen went to pick up their tuxes. 3-4 tuxes were SHORT. They went up to their calves. They fixed a couple in store.. cool not that big of a deal right?
Another day went by, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING… my now husband went to pick up his tux and the new “matching” ties. His tux was short. The ties and the bow ties did not match each other NOR did they match the suits as I was told. The ties were shiny silver gray, the bow ties had POLKA DOTS and were gray. AND then the guy at the front desk tried charging my husband ANOTHER $250 after he was already paid in full.. just overall awful customer service.
To end the mess, we ended up ordering matching ties/bow ties on Amazon that matched better than any of the options men’s warehouse gave us. We were not offered any refunds or anything for the awful experience we went through.
I do NOT recommend dealing with these people. I do recommend a new staff,...
Read moreWe found ourselves in Mens Warehouse during Parents Weekend. We walked in to see what appeared to be 50% of the male students and their parents already in the store. Despite the staff being beyond stretched thin, they were kind, patient, and helpful. The line to check out was lined up half way through the showroom.
The selection was great, but the stock levels were understandably limited based on the volume of business that weekend. We were impressed when one staff member told us that another staff member, Clark, had not only found my son's size in the Birmingham store, but had also arranged to pick it up for us that evening when he was going into the city for other reasons. Wow! That was above and beyond the call of duty. What was even more impressive was how Clark humbly told us "Birmingham has your size and the pants will be here tomorrow by noon." He didn't even try to seek credit for this kind gesture.
Michael was very helpful in getting my son properly fitted, not only for a suit, but also dress pants for his sports coat. We were just so impressed with how well the staff handled the surge in business that clearly stretched them beyond their capacity that day.
My only suggestion is the store develop a numbering system to provide better coordination for customers during these unusually peak times. It was a bit chaotic to figure out who was next to be served and which staff members were available to help a customer.
Thank you, Clark and Michael, for saving us a drive to Birmingham during our limited time together. You have earned...
