I’m not one to generally take the time to do online reviews however this time I feel I must. While traveling my friend and I hopped off the interstate to grab a bite to eat. The weather that evening was horrible, we were traveling with our favorite guy (a 14 year old,, 100 lb, full blooded pit bull). After hours of traveling in said conditions, let’s just say we weren’t looking our best and decided on some Asian fare to go. We decided on a place with drive through takeout. A well known chain, which I personally have never cared for much, but given the circumstances it seemed to be the best option. Possibly one of the worst decisions I’ve EVER made, and trust I have made plenty of them! 🙄 We were stuck and I mean stuck in the drive thru line for over an hour and a half with no way out! ( curbing on both sides of the rather long order lane from beginning to end) Freedom, the furbaby we were traveling with, who btw is 14 years old 🐾❤️ (so handsome still and such a good boy) was out of water and so in need of a drink but we couldn’t get through or out of the line to get him any water. My friend even got out and walked into several places in the plaza asking to please fill his water jug but no one would help (shame on those people too) After 40 mins I called the establishment, explained the situation and expressed how badly we needed a way out of their line (keep in mind the weather outside is on the cusp of hurricane conditions), no help came. It took another 50 mins to make it to their pickup window which provided our first chance to escape. Once reaching the window I refused the order stating I only paused long enough to make sure they understood how terrible their performance was and to insure the poor people behind me didn’t end up with the wrong orders. NEVER EVER EVER IN MY LIFE WILL I PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT or ANY OTHER LOCATION AFFILIATED WITH THEM!! Long prelude to lead up to my actual review which is for Asia Buffet. They are in the same plaza as the other place so we pulled in over there, I ran in with my water container for Freedom, quickly explained what had happened and the urgency of getting this old man (the dog Freedom) some water. Without hesitation or even seeming to care if we came back and ordered food, the young man at the counter took off and came back with two containers of water even adding just a small amount of ice to the one and sent me on my way to take care of our dog. So kind, concerned and helpful. Again, seemingly like even concerned if we came back in to eat or not. Of course we did. We made our plate to go and Eison (the young man from the front counter, Freedom’s hero, sweetest, kindest young man you will ever meet was still attentive to my friend and my needs. Showing us the variety of choices and where the desserts, salad, etc where located and where to get any sauces we may need etc etc. In conclusion, this is the kind of establishment you’d want to do business with. Eison is the type person you’d like to meet. The food was great. They provided us and our little ‘ big’ dude everything we needed to replenish and energize our weary selves to complete our journey. May God bless you Eison and continue to guide you in the direction you’re going. You’re going to be a fine man! Thank you to the owners as well. A business ran as they once were. With respect, pride and...
Read moreMoney's worth buffet! I visited for lunch dining. My first priority was trying the Korean BBQ in the buffet. There was only one Korean marinated pork BBQ for lunch (You can see photos), but the taste was good. I didn't expect much variety given the price, but there were many different foods to try. It's pay first and serve yourself everything. The restaurant is much easier to navigate than KPOT buffet (It was complicated for me at first). The staff were generally nice. I should try the Hibachi, but I was already so full from other food. I need to go again for dinner to see how different the menu is compared to lunch. ‐---------------------------------------------------------------- Review Update 3/11/2025
After finding out that they recently added Pho to the menu, I decided to try it. I also visited several times during dinner hours. Unfortunately, the Korean Pork BBQ tasted different from before and didn’t feel authentic. However, since the Pho is very affordable, it’s hard to complain about the taste. The dinner menu was quite satisfying for the price, and I noticed some dishes available only during dinner. One interesting thing is that they offer a To-Go Box option for the buffet, and the staff mentioned that they don’t weigh the food.
From my recent visits, the staff has always been friendly and remembers regular customers well. They even try to offer tables based on customer preferences. While I wish the Korean Pork BBQ tasted more authentic, the other dishes are good for the price, and the great service makes me want to keep...
Read moreThis was probably the worst dine-in experience I have had in Tuscaloosa. The food was not good for the price that they charge. The noodles were gummy-like, the rice was not cooked fully, and some of the food was either tough or too hard. The salt and pepper shrimp had shells on them, so unless you are ok with eating shells, you will have to take all of the crust and flavor off to peel the shells. Pointless!
I had to wait forever to get a refill and the waitress who came up to give me a refill was not my waitress. As she approached my table she chuckles and says would you like a refill? She’s still laughing and says, “ I saw you looking around, you were probably thinking, are these people ever going to come back to refill my drink?” That mocking behavior was very upsetting and distasteful.
The same waitress also came and grabbed my plate without asking if I was finished so I had to hurry up and grab a food item off of the plate. This place is definitely not worth its price....
