I love River Market Farmer's Market! I try to go every Saturday Morning. At some point over the past 3 months, I have purchased homemade breads from Elizabeth, art from Mrs. McLeod, who creates canvases, ornaments, and lovely ring holders made from shells that she sources from the gulf and paints, local honey from several vendors, fresh eggs (even easter egger eggs!) from 2-3 vendors, fresh meats from a man out of Greene County (best pot roast ever!), fresh mushrooms such as lion's mane and other varieties, greens (arugula, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, mustard greens, etc.), sweets such as cakes and sweet breads from several vendors who even offered vegan options for my child who has food allergies, a really cool bowl made of resin and black walnut by a local artisan from Cottondale whose wife is an excellent baker, homemade soaps (recommend the charcoal soap - great for acne/skin conditions), and (I saved the best for last!) SARMAS made by these amazingly talented women from Turkey. Sarmas resemble dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) and we never leave River Market without some. These ladies also sell other hand made items. If you haven't visited, you must go and take a friend or family member. There is truly something there...

A sanctuary of slowness in a world that rushes.
A rooted space. A reflective joy. Weāll be back,...

But the security company used by River Market needs to be re-reexamined. It was like a police state. They harassed anyone who looked under 30. I saw guards looking through trash cans with flashlights. You werenāt even able to take your own drink into the restroom. The bartender overcharged us, which I suspected to be purposeful. The security staff was borderline harassing the guests. We left the event early thanks to the rude...
