I entered this store looking for a few items for my mother that was in the hospital. I located some towels my mother was in need of. I browsed around a bit while I was on the phone and headed towards the check stand when I heard a males voice screaming down the isle put your items down and get out of my store you messed up my towels, my husband on the phone asked what was going on !?!? I had no idea, until he appeared from around the isle pointed at me he said you messed up the towels put your items down and get out of my store I pointed at myself and said what? He said yes put your items down I said if your claiming I messed up your towels I can fix them he said NO, Get OUT or I’ll call the police I said please do!! I did nothing wrong. I put items down and asked the young lady at the front for Regional Managers name she said she had no idea then I asked who the was manager was he butted in and said it was himself I asked his name and he wouldn’t disclose. I walked towards the door and asked was he calling the police he stated he always does!! Once I walked through the door and turned around he proceeded to stand by the door and lock it so no was able to go out or in. The police arrived they said it was private and he was able to ask me to leave, they asked if I had a criminal background or warrant I replied no and they asked for my ID that I supplied, they didn't allow me to tell my side. They seem to know him quite well. I asked if they knew his name, right away they said his name was James P. Immediately I searched to contact corporate which was a wild goose chase they don’t have anything direct, then to find out Dollar Tree owns them and trying to close them all and sell family dollars. After about a week and half I received a call from the district manager she expressed apologies and said she looked at the camera and saw his demeanor and it was not appropriate and stated he was her best manager that statement was alarming to hear, if he’s the best OMG what are the other stores dealing and with. It’s so hard to get in touch with corporate, I’m sure customers give up!! I’m going all the way. I feel I was profiled and discriminated against and I was humiliated and I now have a bit of anxiety. It seems corporate is sweeping it...
Read moreI am a regular customer at the Family dollar store in 29 palms. It maintains functional working hours , has a wide variety of products from brand names to competitive lower priced stock. . The clerks are always helpful in trying to assist customers to find Items they came shopping for and on their way . Often the store is very busy which does create some delay at peak times though they respond with a second cashier when's able . More recently here in January 2023 after the holiday rush has subsided, the store has become more organized with increased amount of active employees. They receive new deliveries at the beginning of each week . The best time to ensure they have what you need in stock, and on the shelves is midweek. It is apparent the store is evolving with additional staff . increasing competitive brands and on line services. Store hours make for convience as they are open until 10:00 p. M and open at 7:00a.m. daily. Handicap accessible, public transportation stop out front. It is fortunate to see progress in the area of...
Read moreThe store is filthy. It looks like it hasn’t been swept in months, nor mopped. Now I know the floors need to be replaced you can see that by looking at them but that doesn’t mean the staff shouldn’t at the very least sweep... plus they are not ADA compliant, they are several places that you could not get a wheel chair through the store, they have boxes and U-boats all over the place. The shelves are poorly stocked, and the manager doesn’t seem to care at all about the long lines, standing in front of the cash register talking to the cashier instead of letting the cashier do her job and check out the customers. The condition is deplorable, and it used to be a fairly clean store, but over the years it has really gone way down hill. The manager should have more respect for herself, her employees, and her store to let it look...
