So ...I've always heard shop local . I just recently had my Wedding . So in planning the event we decided to do just that .. keep it local . So we chose the Store Schroeder's in Two Rivers to order the Groom & his Groomsmen tuxs . It started out good . All the Men in , sized & measured with what they said was a qualified person . Ok , that was all done . We were told that the tuxs come in the week of the Wedding . This was months ago. In which we shared our nervousness & concerns on what if things need to be changed , isn't that cutting it close , that we had people coming from our of town They reassured us that that's how they do things . It'll be fine . So first up , on a phone call we did to the store several weeks before the wedding , we did a check on the date ,time so on so forth in which we were shocked on the call that they couldn't seem to find our names , date ..time etc . With that , they managed to get things back on coarse , thank God we called !! So , low & behold it's the week of the wedding . We were told tuxs coming in on the 6th or 7 at the latest . Mind you again ...wedding date was the 10th. So as the tuxs were coming in , they were WRONG !!! The sizing was way off on several (3 of the 5) Not to mention the Grooms tux came in the day before the Wedding an hour or so before rehearsal which was out of town . Between the chasing several times for the guys to get refitted , the added stress to our rehearsal day or worries on the Groom without a tux , and the fact that not once did they apologize but only kept saying relax it'll be fine and to continuously tell us that it was the guys fault for the mix up on sizing !!! Wait what !!?? The person measuring/ fitting them was a professional & qualified . ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! This sadly was a horrible experience not to mention the unprofessionalism and no apologies only blame on our part. The only thing they did to I guess make up for their horrible services was to have one gentleman who deserves more credit to deliver the Grooms tux to the Venue on Rehearsal night in hopes that it would fit the Groom. Also ... In a conversation at the store when we stopped in on the day of rehearsal checking yet again on the Grooms tux for them say ... Oh well we are waiting on 3 more weddings as well . Wow !! So apparently this is how they do business . Improper measuring , blaming the customer , no apologies, dismissing our concern several months before on tuxs coming in the week, only days before the event . By far the worst business experience I've ever dealt with & several of us work in customer service so we know how to do service recovery !!! Which we weren't shown from...
Read moreI stopped in as part of the Ice Age Trail Alliance's, October 2025 Mammoth Challenge. I was pleasantly surprised we I walked in.
I am from Milwaukee, and the word "department store" automatically turns me off. If you have ever been in one of our malls, our department stores generally mass produce overpriced cheaply made clothes.
Not so in Schroeders. They offer high-quality very well-known brands such as Merrell, Taos, Clarks. (I was looking for shoes)
I was actively hiking part of the Ice Age Trail that day and I wasn't actually planning on buying anything because that would mean having to carry it around on the trail. But, my feet were sore and my shoes seemed too small. So, ended up buying some awesome Merrells as hiked out the store with them literally on my feet. I had just shoved my other shoes in my pack.
But anyways, love your store and I would highly recommend anyone hiking the Ice Age to pop in and check it out, if only for a respite from your hike. It is on the actual trail that goes through the city so it's not out of the way at all.
Oh and their prices are competitively priced for the brands they offer. I got mine for almost 40% on clearance which is why I bought them. Their prices are very reasonable. And that is comparing them to the prices of the largest city...
