The lady tricked me to almost purchase a $75 shipping for a small router bit return with a couple sheets paper. I recently had a frustrating experience at this UPS store while returning a small router bit (about 3 inches long, 1/2-inch diameter) to Oregon. I expected to pay around $10, as it had arrived in a simple envelope costing about $8. I specifically requested the cheapest shipping option and mentioned I didn’t need a box—just an envelope like the one it came in. However, the employee insisted an envelope wasn’t guaranteed and quoted me $75 for shipping. She misled me into proceeding by not displaying the price clearly on the screen and rushing me through terms and conditions. When I realized the cost was $75, I reiterated my request for the cheapest option. She appeared annoyed but eventually offered alternatives: $45, $35, and finally $19. Even then, she added fees for a small box and handling, pushing the total over $30. At that point, I decided the return wasn’t worth it and declined. As I was about to leave, she brought out the same bubble envelope the item had arrived in and told me it would cost only $2 to use. Exhausted, I agreed, and the total ended up being $19.97. This experience felt unnecessarily complicated and deceptive, and I hope UPS addresses such practices to ensure clarity and fairness for customers.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION - PLEASE READ! TLDR: Wayyyy too expensive! -One 18x18x18 box: $29.00 -One roll of standard packaging tape: $6.15 This location overcharges for the price of the most simplest items. I unfortunately fell victim to this and wish for no one else to do the same. I went to this location to pick up an 18x18x18 standard box and 20x20x20 box, in total I was going to pay $60+ but said no to the 20x20x20. After a grumble from the one helping me, she put it back and charged was initially going to charge me $45 due to the roll of tape costing $15. Looking closer the tape was labeled $6.15. So after pointing this out, I ended up spending $38.93 and marked on the receipt - ALL SALES FINAL / NO REFUNDS / NO EXCHANGE. Not even discounts for employees or the likes. Very dismissive and upcharging pricing. Would not recommend this business. Go to Lowe’s as attached below, I bought 3 18x18x18 boxes for a total of $14.94 and packaging tape for $7.17 (Heavy Duty). Below are receipts and quality of both items.

I've had great experiences with UPS stores but will never return to this store and urge you to find another location. I dropped in to process three Amazon returns. Two went fine, no packaging, no problem. The third was in the open shipping box but I was told it would be $5 to tape the box closed. WHAT? Five bucks for two feet of tape!? I was told I could buy a roll of tape for $7.50. Now look I would have happily tipped a dollar for the friendly smile and 2 feet of tape. I was tempted to buy the roll and tell them to cover the next 200 packages on me but I don't trust a place that will take advantage of someone. So enjoy your $5 and know what I will forever complain about your lack of customer service.

Don't bring next-day packages here. I had an eBay customer pay for next-day air. Everything was ready to and perfectly packed; I've been doing this on eBay and in my own business for decades. I brought the package to this location and after waiting in line a bit, dropped it off at 10:55 am. This was on December 7, so it was decently busy, no worries. I figured everything was fine. It was not. The next day, I checked to see if the package had been delivered. Nope. In fact, the next UPS scan after my drop-off was at 10:30 that night in Hayward, well past any outgoing service for the day. Next-day turned into 2-day. What followed was a long series of run-around from UPS to this day. They won't refund anything because "the package was delivered". They don't care how long it took, even when I paid over $80 for a specific service that they simply did not do. I ended up having to refund my customer the difference between next-day and 2-day, $43. So ultimately, trusting this location for next-day cost me $43 and I have zero recourse except sharing my experience here. Don't make the same mistake. Now I'm saddened to see that this location changed hands on December 1, and I'm wondering if this is the result. They've usually been very nice and competent in the past. I hope they can turn this around.

Edit after 'owner' replied: It wasn't an inconvenience. It was money. You cost me money. The package didn't leave your location until 10:30 at night. That was the problem. I watched the clerk put that particular box on a special pile in the backroom, where it was apparently forgotten, as my other Ground package went out that day with no issues. Once the package did get to UPS a day late, it actually was delivered the next day, making your guarantee assertion irrelevant.

You have a funny little collection of excuses you are dropping on all of these low-star reviews. Maybe you think you're going to school customers into toeing the line? That's not really the best attitude...

My story began with a simple shipping job. It's somewhat an important item because losing it could probably mean to lose an important client as well. So, to make sure it doesn't get left by the doorstep, I throw in a little bit more $$$ and made this shipment "signed upon delivery". But yep, can't avoid bad thing when it is meant to happen, the package was lost.

Can't find the exact word to describe how I felt at the time, but for sure there was a lot of pressure, some anger and mostly frustration.

I decided to personally visit the UPS store where the package was dropped off because I did not want to handle this in a conversation through phone. A lady staff greeted me, learned the situation I was put in and then quickly filed a claim on my behalf to start an investigation on this missing package in the hope of recovering it.

A few days later, there was still no news from the UPS store. When all my co-workers as well as myself had given up hope, BANG! suddenly a new update appeared after I refreshed the package tracking webpage. The package has been reacquired and put to shipping! And just within an hour after I saw the new package tracking status, got a message from my co-worker who's also the recipient saying that he just received the item I shipped out!

I guess in this scenario, no news mean good news. The UPS investigation team probably will only make contact when the item is confirmed not recoverable - or lost.

But thankfully my story had a happy ending. I am truly grateful for the helps I received. The lady who assisted me was very knowledgeable as well as very caring of my dire situation. She also refunded me the entire cost ( around $100 ) of this shipping order. Even though in the end the package was reacquired and delivered, but she said I was still entitled a full refund because the delivery took too many days where my order was a 1 day shipping. ( So yeah, I shipped this item for free~ THANKS...

I had a very poor experience at this location when I went in for Live Scan services. I was made to wait in the back while others who arrived after me were attended to first. After waiting for around 25 minutes, an employee started processing my forms but appeared unsure of what she was doing, which concerned me. When a system issue arose, I realized it would take even longer to process my forms. I had another appointment, so I politely asked if I could return at a later time. The manager rudely interjected, "We need to make a phone call to make sure your information is correct; you need to wait." When I repeated my request, she rolled her eyes and said, "We already entered your information." I explained that I had already been waiting for 30 minutes and needed to leave. She defensively replied, "That‘s not anybody's fault." I clarified that I was not blaming anyone but had not anticipated it taking this long and had somewhere else to be.

This was not my first negative experience at this location. I have been here two other times in the past year for Live Scan services. On one occasion, they failed to process my form correctly, resulting in it not appearing with the CTC. When I called UPS 10 days later to check on the status, they said they would look into it and call me back, but I never received any notification or even a generic apology.

I had previously recommended this location to friends and co-workers for Live Scan and other services. However, after this latest experience, I will not return and will not recommend this place to anyone. The manager is very...
