Valley Bank — Local services in Union City

I went to the branch and spoke to an officer about information regarding the safety deposit box xxxx that will be due in October of 2020. He indicated that the payment would be $60.00 for this year and next year would be $92.00. I wrote a check for the $60.00 and gave it to the teller. A couple of days later I received a call from the bank manager that I need to pay taxes for the box. I was out of town at that time and when I came back I received the check ($60.00 payment) without any explanation. I don't think this is very professional. Based on my experience working in a bank, this is not acceptable. There should be a letter written to explain the reasoning behind the returned check and the tax fee. I’ve been trying to reach the supervisor about a hold on my account since Saturday. They told me on Saturday, she would be in on Monday. I called first thing in the morning on Monday, to be told she was on vacation. I went in person later that evening and spoke to the male banker and was told that she left for the day. It’s Tuesday now, I called again to fix this stressful situation with my account only to be told, she isn’t around right now. The amount of unprofessionalism at this bank is embarrassing. The place is spacious and neat. If you need to see a teller...this bank takes 5 stars. My experience with one of the clerks from the customer service area was somewhat different, a two starts at the most and made management know about it. I was gladly surprised when I received a call from a customer service representative who listened to my concerns and told me that they will work on improving. I appreciate the gesture.
