4 chances to make it right and they made it worse each time. Issue #1- I had my ring back for less than 1 month (3/7) and a prong has already completely broke off (4/2) I have not hit it or snagged it on anything, I don’t wear it while doing anything that can damage it. I went in yesterday and explained my situation and frustration and they suggested I simply pick out a new ring! We ended up ordering a replica in my size. Because I understand issues happen.
Issue #2 Kay's called my fiancé, to let him know my ring was ready to be picked up. He left work early to go pick it up for me because I was so happy. After he picked it up he called me to let me know that I would have to return it to them AGAIN! This time the ring had a loose stone, so 2 separate broken rings. To say I was livid would be an understatement. I went straight back to the store. I was helped by Kristine, the district manager and Victoria the current acting store manager. I explained to them my issue was not only with me having to return a 2nd ring and going w/o my ring AGAIN but that we were notified the ring was done and ready with no issues and they purposefully got my Hope's up. They ended up blaming this on my ring size and told me I should have custom ordered it to begin with. This all could have been avoided if I was told this with the first ring instead of the 3rd. We ended up special ordering it for our 3rd and what will be our final attempt. They assured me that I will be appropriately compensated for this nightmare.
Issue#3: After having to have my ring replaced TWICE, I went in to pick up my custom ring today, 5/6, that Kay’s had ordered in attempt to fix this nightmare of an experience that they have caused. The custom ring was handed to me w/o the employee saying a word, I begin examining this ring and immediately notice that it is a completely different ring than I had ordered. My ring was princess cut, with a halo and pave band. They handed me a ROUND ring with a completely different band and setting. When I pointed out these massive differences she still did not speak a word, she simply nodded in agreement and was speechless.
The manager stepped in and has contacted her boss (Kristine) who I also called and left a VM for since she had given me her business card with issue #1 and told me to call if I ever needed anything. Kristine did not even have the decency to return my call. Each of these incidents are unacceptable and warrant a massive discount each on their own. So 3 major issues deserve to be compensated for greatly. I requested balance owed waived which was minimal at this point, free band and his ring free. Finally received a call from Stephanie 3 hours later. She informed me that the ring they tried to give me wasn't even mine! I could have walked out with someone elses ring, how insanely incompetent and terrifying to think about how many other customers they have done this to!? My ring is supposedly still being shipped but I dont believe them. They then offered me a 30% discount on just the band with an additional 10% off. The current sale is 30% store wide so not only did they try to pass this off as discount for their mistakes made but a measly 10% is a slap in the face. Needless to say we left with a refund because as heartbroken as I was to say goodbye to my ring, this 0 integrity company is just not worth the stress. Morgan Jewelers have offered to custom order my exact ring and we are so incredible relieved to not have to deal with Kay's ever again. I highly suggest everyone considers this a learning experience and go anywhere but Kay's. As hard as they tried to ruin my experience, they will never be able to take away my excitement for my marriage or my fiance but they sure did everything in their power to try. I hope Kristine (district mgr) and Stephanie (branch mgr) take this into consideration and drastically change how they handle their business because this...
Read moreDealing with Kay has truly been the worst experience purchasing a higher dollar item I have ever had. From 12 years ago buying my wife’s wedding and engagement rings and being given the wrong price and needing to return to pay more to now they have managed to lose her ring(they blame fedex) while shipping it to repair a loose stone. Some how they have managed to make a bad situation very much worse in attempting to try to get a replacement. We have been into the store two times, had sales associates show us rings and left thinking we had a new ring they just needed to complete the paperwork only to be called and told the rings we were shown were not a even value and would need to look again. We have been lied to, been given incorrect information and still no new ring for my wife. I can say that the manager Stephanie has tried to help but higher up’s who will not talk to us are definitely not concerned about making this right just the bottom dollar. The reviews and ratings of Kay speak for what you should expect and most...
Read moreI spoke with (Julie ) salesperson about purchasing a gold necklace they had in store I wanted to pay for it over the phone to make sure it was still available. At that price it was quoted for , She stated that’s a lot of work involves emailing back and forth , I stated I don’t mind ,she suggested that she could put it aside for me to pick it up , I drove 1 1/2 to the store on my day off . It was (Julie’s) day off as well ! Only to find out the necklace was no longer on sale for the price I was quoted , the in store sale had ended the day before I got there ! Not once in the 3 or 4 phone calls did (Julie ) say the sales would be ending, And I would have to pay a higher price than originally quoted !
