I always take my mom to macys whenever I go visit her. She is 93 and suffers dementia. But Macys is some place that she feels comfortable going to with me. Customer service has always been wonderful. We decided to go for the after Christmas sales. We always have and it gets her out of the house. We'll this past Thursday we were finding things to try on and found our favorite fitting room open. My mom needed a restroom break. So I took her over to it and said I'll be back in 10 minutes so I could pick up the sweater she saw and loved while walking over. Well when I came back she was gone. I started looking for her. I found a Macys employee that was vacuuming and she was talking to one of the security people when i asked for help. The security person and the cleaning person stayed in contact with each other over the phone and within 10 minutes they found my mom. She had somehow ended up on the 2nd floor by the elevator in the kids department. So I went to the elevator an when it opened she was in it. I can't tell you how much I appreciate what they did. I was on the verge of tears and close to panic. When I explained what happened they did not hesitate for a minute. I really wish I had got there names. I'd love to tell corporate what kind of employees they have. I'm eternally greatful for their assistance and how the found her so quickly. Once we got back with each other it was like it never happened for her. I've learned my lesson. I'm very grateful. They restored my faith in people. We always hear the bad. We'll this is my 5 star review. We've been coming there for some years and customer service has always been stellar Thank you from the bottom of...
Read moreI've never gone here alone before, let along come here at night. It's a ghost town at least by 730PM. I get they close at 9PM but I urgently needed a pair of dress shoes, which were likely well overpriced and there was nobody there in the men's dressing department to help. I rumbled through the various shoes they had as fast as possible trying not to get kicked out due to closing before I found my shoes. Fortunately I managed to stumble on some wide fitting shoes that were good enough. Then it was time to checkout. Ugh. I started walking around aimlessly trying to figure out where to go when there's no associate in the department I am purchasing from. Finally one of the employees comes up to me, seeing me wander and looking around for someone, and asks me if I am trying to checkout. He tells me his job at night is to go find customers so he can help get them checked out. Would it be too much to ask for some instructions at night for checkout procedure? Anyway, the dude who helped me out was real nice and we had a laugh about their night time checkout process. I just wished I could have received some actual service in selecting my product. If you're going to be open that late you sure as heck should have someone close by to ask questions who can actually help. Otherwise just close your doors at 5PM when most of the staff likely leaves for the day. I'm glad they were open so I could get my shoes and it was maybe just luck I happened to find some that fit well but if I couldn't have found anything that worked that was on the floor I would have been SOL and just really irritated since there was nobody available...
Read moreThe competitive cosmetic employees is tiring. Went in to look for a new fragrance for my Mother on Mother's day. A young African American associate approached, I informed her of the same and she gave us space. Initially my mom found nothing. We went to find flats and returned to the area. I directed my sister to find fragrance for herself. The same associate approached us again...she organically opened a Convo with my sister. She made spot on suggestions to her and in the process sprayed something for her that my mother flipped her lid over. Because of this associate both my sister and mom found items and purchased. Before we could get to the counter good two Caucasian associates began more or less trying intercept us and steal the sale. They initially were watching and observing us. And once they saw we intended fo buy they became suddenly interested in us. Meanwhile they messed the four young women who was milling about and they eventually suspected of stealing from their area. Sad that insecurity and biases make people so silly they miss both opportunities to be...
