It was obvious my pup was cut while he was here the last time I took him. The groomer (Estrella/Marisol) took a long time to give him back which was unusual. She was probably trying to stop the bleeding instead of just getting him help or calling me about it. She still charged full price. A week and a half later, the vet noticed the pictured scabbing wound during his annual visit. The wound wasn't closed, so he needed sutures. Since there aren't any sharp objects where he could have cut himself at home, and there was no blood trail at home, it was only apparent that it happened here. I called and let them know.
While I don't think this was intentional, having taken my dogs there for years, the way this was handled was unprofessional and not thuroughly looked into. The receptionist kept putting me on hold to speak with the business owner, Tina, who wouldn't just speak with me herself. Then, the receptionist asked for the purpose of my call, asking if I was making a formal complaint. The receptionist said Tina said they were going to review surveillance cameras which sounded great because they do have cameras inside. They also spoke with the vet about billing, later pointing out that they overcharged me for pain meds. The receptionist said they would call me back after cameras were reviewed and I never received a call back. I had to call back twice a week later to speak with the receptionist. She put the groomer on the phone. The groomer said she didn't remember having cut my dog and that she didn't remember noticing a wound which she said she would have told me about. She said she took video and photos of my dog after grooming him. She barely let me talk and repeated herself instead. Finally, I spoke with Tina who said it didn't look like it happened there (Tails of the City). Tina also agreed there would have been a lot of blood and I told her there wasn't any blood at home. I asked Tina if she reviewed video footage and she said she did look at video from the groomer... I asked Tina for surveillance video which she said she would send to me. I haven't received the footage and they didn't answer when I called back to tell them I...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with Tails of the CityDog Salon. As a new customer, I booked an appointment for my cat to be groomed based upon the positive reviews I read on line. When I made the appointment, the person I spoke to never told me that my cat would be there for 3 to 4 hours, the only thing that was commuicated was the day, time and to bring a copy of the rabies shot certificate. We arrived 30 minutes early, because I assumed I would have to fill out some paperwork, since we were new. When we walked in, we were greeted, we introduced our cat, we spoke about having my cat shampoo, shaved and his nails trimmed and off he went...,My husband and I sat there for over an hour as I watched one dog after another fill the waiting room, listening to the staff tell each customer to pick up their dog in an hour and half, two hours, 3 hours etc... Since we were sitting in the lobby for over an hour, I asked an employee about the status of my cat.. I was told he has not been serviced yet and is next and for me to pick him up in 3 to 4 hours.. So my cat screaming his head off was sitting in a carrier for over an hour and was never started... So I cancelled the service and requested that my cat be returned to me. Over booking, allowing an animal to sit in a cage for 4 to 5 hours is unacceptable to me.
When I arrived, no one asked to see a copy of his rabies shots, no one asked for me to fill out any new client forms, but they were quick to take him to the back .
I watched more dogs accidentally pee on floor by the front Matt, and not one employee picked up the urine, I found the place not to be appealing at all.
The girls at the front desk needs to learn customer service skills, I felt this place was dirty and unprofessional, I would rather have my cat groomed by the Vet for the same services, less wait time and the same price Not to mention a better environment!
I do NOT recommend this business...
Read moreI would not recommend this groomer to anyone with a double-coated dog. I brought in my Pomsky for a routine grooming and specifically did not request a shave. Despite this, they shaved her coat down, which is incredibly damaging for her breed and can permanently affect her fur texture and health. When I raised my concern with her Groomer, Jnean, she claimed my husband asked for it something he absolutely did not do, and even if he had or there was a miscommunication, no responsible or properly trained groomer would proceed with shaving a Pomsky without confirming such a drastic request, especially when it goes against breed care standards.
On top of that, they did not trim her nails as we requested. Overall, this was an upsetting experience and I hope no other dog owner has to go through the same. This is not about a miscommunication. It’s about poor judgment and a lack of breed-specific knowledge. Her coat may never grow back the same, and we’re heartbroken. I’m writing this not out of spite, but to help prevent this from happening to someone else’s pet.
Edit: After posting this honest review, I was contacted directly by the business owner via text and asked to take it down. Instead of showing any accountability or empathy for what happened, they doubled down, deflected blame onto my husband, and dismissed my concern with a defensive and condescending tone. At no point did they acknowledge how upsetting or damaging this experience was only that I should remove the review. This response only reinforced the lack of professionalism and care I experienced from...
