Staff seemed to know their product well. Each item was made to perfection. The fried cheese curds were perfectly bowned with signs of being overcooked. The maple cookie shake had the exact amount of cookies to add texture without the feeling of there being no texture or overwhelmed by cookies. It had the smooth texture of the soft serve made a bit smoother with some whipped cream balanced by the soft cookies and the little crunch of their sugar crystals. The pumpkin pie blizzard was also pretty amazing, though I'd suggest the DQ food chemists swap out the sour ingredient. (I've tasted it in a competitor's pumpkin pie milkshake before and it is a bit distracting. I'm sure it's there as a preservative, but there has to be another option! I've never had a store bought pumpkin pie that tasted sour. It makes one wonder if these are last year's pies or something! Service was dinged a bit because they were so busy with the drive-through that it took them awhile to take care of customers in the front. That being said, they were very friendly and helpful when they arrived. Also, Atmosphere isn't that great. The place is definitely not designed for a long sit down meal. The seats are hard. I'm not sure they even had music on. It wasn't uncomfortable per se, just not the cozy type of place that would make you want to write home about...or hang out for very long. (It's a fast food place, so understandably they don't want their dining room cluttered with long-term guests. I had craving for a blizzard, so my son and I came in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick lunch and blizzard. This location right off I-80 freeway off Davis Street in Vacaville. They have a drive-thru, so you have the option of dining in or go through the drive-thru if you are on the go. They have both indoor and outdoor dining areas with ample parking.

I got the Epic Deal ($7) which included a burger (or chicken strips), fries, fountain drink and sundae (upgrade to blizzard for $2 more). I upgraded to the blizzard (Superman Cake Batter Cookie Dough). My son got the Double Cheese Deluxe Stackburger, small Onion Ring and small Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough blizzard. My son said the burgers are very similar to McDonald’s burgers in taste and size. I remember when I was a kid, DQ burgers were much better, but the quality sure has gone down for the cost. The fries were decent as were the onion rings (a little pricy for small onion rings). The blizzards were good.

Employees were all very nice and attentive. Our order came out in a timely manner, but I was a little disappointed that the blizzard came out before the main meal, so I was 1/2 done with the blizzard by the time the main meal came out. I wish there was a way to postpone the blizzard until I was closer to finishing the main meal, so the blizzard was not 1/2 melted by the time I finished my meal.

food was pretty tasty as always BUT..... begin rant.... Walked in at 945.. yes, lobby closes at 10. Me, wife and 5 kids - 11, 8, 2, 1, and 3 weeks old yes a Little Baby... we are hungry. asked if our order is to go... I said nope. we are going to eat here.. cue eye roll... says they are closing in 15 minutes inside. I said ok. Ordered and sat waiting. all food brought in a few bags - "to go" style. Wife now uncomfortable. I ask for some condiments so we can just go sit outside and eat. Clerk says "I'm not trying to stay later i want to go home so thanks" and can i get you anything else. Just the condiments please. She brings to us outside and again asks if we need anything else. Nope we are good. Open bags... gravy containers are open and spilled all over 1 bags contents. Next bag - daughter ordered DOUBLE cheese burger - actually i had to repeat 3 times. Guess what we didn't get.. yup got a regular cheese burger. Start eating as we shake our heads..
