I am at a loss for words to describe my frustration. On 11/29, I called the West Elm outlet store in Vacaville to inquire about available king-size beds and confirm their condition. They informed me of an Emmit Storage King Bed in stock, described as being in new condition. I thought, âGreat!â and mentioned I would look up the bed online since I wasnât familiar with it.
While researching the bed, I realized I didnât have all the details about the fabric, color, or other specifics. I called again to ask for this information and to confirm its condition. Once again, they reassured me that the bed was in perfect condition. After customizing and confirming all the details online, I was excited about the bed. I called yet again to ask if it could be reserved, and while they said no, they reassured me once more that it was in excellent condition. They also advised me to call before leaving home, as I live 2.5 hours away, to confirm the bedâs availability.
Following their advice, I called before leaving to confirm the bed was still available. I double-checked the color and condition again, and once more, they confirmed everything was fine.
When I arrived at the store, the bed was indeed there. A floor manager offered assistance, and I immediately expressed interest in the Emmit bed, which was right in front of us. To my shock, she informed me that the bed was missing the central supportâthe critical piece that holds up the mattress. She then suggested I go to Home Depot to purchase a piece of wood as a replacement. I couldnât believe what I was hearing. âAre you kidding me?â I asked. âI drove 2.5 hours with a 4-year-old on a Saturday to buy this bed, after calling four times and being reassured every single time that the bed was in perfect conditionânow this?â
She then showed me another king-size bed, the âLana,â which I liked but found nearly $600 more expensive.
My biggest frustration was with the floor managers, who treated me as though this was my fault. It felt like they were implying, âThis is an outlet store; this is what you should expect.â I might have understood if I hadnât called four times in advance to confirm. They showed no compassion for my situation and acted completely indifferent. Meanwhile, the other staff members were incredibly kind and genuinely empathetic, expressing regret about the situation. Some even mentioned that if they were in charge, they would have handled it very differently.
West Elm, I strongly urge you to improve training for your managers, particularly those at the Vacaville store. Simply being active on Instagram live videos does not equate to excellent customer service. Exceptional customer service is crucial to your business. I canât fully express how disappointed and disheartened I am by...

the outlet staff were very friendly and helpful . The always advice you to reach the store early ( as soon as they open ) to be able to see the large selection , the stock does sell out pretty quickly but again at such great prices it does happen . I managed to grab a couple of things and I did not need them to be shipped but they do not offer shipping / transport of the goods , they will provide a 3rd party company details to ship your goods .
The outlet is very well stocked , they have a large selection of Bedding Rugs Lighting Artwork Chairs Sofas , sections Coffee tables Media consoles Outdoor / patio furniture Side tables Headboards And lots of accessories
P.s they have a great selection of bedding .
If you like something in the website or a particular model you can always call and check .
They do have new stock coming in at least 2 or 3 times a week so visiting earlier in the day will be helpful .
It was a 90 minutes drive from where I live , so plan ahead and make trip .
This store is located at a large shopping area with a few more furniture outlets , restaurants and more shopping .
A lot of pros to this visit but a couple of cons would be 1 . Outlet does not provide shipping / transportation Making a trip at the later half of the day will cut your...
Read moreThis is my favorite furniture outlet shop in Vacaville. The reasons being that the merchandise is in fairly good to great condition. They aren't pawning off broken junk. The pricing reflects significant savings from the full retail pricing. The shop is beautifully staged and merchandise is neatly displayed.
The shop has an open layout. The furniture is placed in the middle of the shop with houseware, serving ware, bedding, and home decor on the shelves along the walls. In regards to furniture, some of the items they carry range from lighting fixtures, coaches, living room lounge chairs, console tables, bookcases, coffee tables, bookcases, display cabinets, dressers. drawers, bedside tables, counter top chairs, dining tables and chairs. But since it's an outlet, there is no guarantee of certain incoming inventory. Every time I pop in here, the staff are busy assisting customers. You will have to wait for assistance. But that's where I'm not sure how that system works. It's not so much first come first next; more like who's the most aggressive in getting someone attention. This is important because hot items are marked sold quickly. If you can't find a staff person in the floor, go to the cashier up front promptly...
