Today, 13 Nov 2020 (Fri), I was not so impressed with the In-N-Out as I had been on the past. •Living on the East Coast, we do not have these restaurants. I only get to experience them while visiting the West Coast. •It was suggested I go to In-And-Out for a simple burger for my 92-yr old Mom. It was a rainy night and the line extended from the restaurant to onto the road. •I decided to download the App in hopes it would allow me to view the menu in advance as well as order online then pick up rather than wait thru the long line we'd been in for 10 mins without moving and probably 20 cars ahead of us. •The App only provided store locations & hours, plus a phone #. •I dialed the number to ask if ordering inside is an options. •Yes, ordering inside is available. •Assured there are 2 grills: one for drive-thru, one for inside orders -- we got out of line, parked and I headed inside. •One register open. All looked good as person finishing their order as I got in line, with one person ahead of me - until the one ahead of me presented a 8.5×11 paper filled with neatly typed orders. •Knowing that customer with neatly typed orders was going to take extra time, I asked if another register could be opened but that didn't happen -- well, not until my turn came at the 1st register, then #2 register opened. •The staff was friendly and the drive-thru could be seen moving along at a smooth pace. It was the inside orders that were lagging in speed. •My order consisted of 1 cheese burger, 1 dble burger & 1 fries. •Upon tasting the fries as we drove away, they were greasy and limping, especially by the time we returned to the house to eat. •The burger buns were slightly soggy where they had been enclosed in paper wrap; in fact, the paper wrap was so soggy from burger juices, I had to throw them away and rewrap with wrap at home. •I'd suggest a bit more attention given to inside patrons as is given to the drive-thru. ..Also, a thicker wrap around the burgers and/or drain some juices before packaging the...
Read moreAlways a winner. Still my favorite fast food of all time.
If I were to be condemned to be executed (yes let's go to that hypithetical dark place for a hot moment) and I was presented with an opportunity to choose my last meal, I can say without a second thought that two "Double Doubles" from In and Out would be the first thing on the list. I'm sure there would be more. I just haven't spent all that much time pondering that question so I can't think of anything else off the top. But, this speaks to the consistency that in and out provides. I have only ever had one "ok" burger there. I can almost always count on them to be awesome and aside from the hour after eating there or having the flu I can't think of a time where I didn't feel like eating here.
Enough said. The line is always crazy long but there is good reason for that. If you haven't eaten there it's definitely something every meat eater needs to do before they die. Ignore the fries. They taste like wet cardboard. It's all about the burgers.
One time I worked a full 24 hour shift in order to meet a deadline. After being on my feet for a whole day and only consuming a few granola bars and a bunch of coffee I was a walking zombie. I probably shouldn't have been driving but In and out was only a block away and I was famished. I ordered 3 burgers for myself and one for my dog (he had been a good boy all day while I worked so he definitely deserved a burger). We sat in my truck and devoured all 4 burgers like it was cool. Next thing I know I'm waking up to the sun rising with my dog on my lap surrounded by in and out wrappers. The burgers had hit the spot so well that I, with my lack of sleep had slipped into a deep and immediate food coma that caused me to accidentally spend the night in their parking lot.
Oops. Thank you in and out! Good food and good memories all around. I would apologize for using your lot as a car camp ground but I blame your food for being so tasty it literally knocked me...
Read moreIf you’ve ever wondered why there’s always a line wrapped around the building at In-N-Out, let me save you the guesswork—it’s because they’ve mastered the art of doing a few things really well, every single time.
This spot is a California staple for a reason. The menu is simple, but the quality speaks for itself. The Double-Double is loaded with flavor, the lettuce and tomato are always crisp, and the beef is fresh and cooked just right. Go animal-style if you want the full experience—sauce, grilled onions, extra everything.
The fries can be hit or miss depending on timing, but when they’re hot and fresh, they pair perfectly with a thick, creamy milkshake. Everything is made to order, and it shows in the taste.
Even when it’s packed, the service is fast and the staff keeps things moving with a good attitude. The inside is clean, the lot is managed well, and the energy feels steady and upbeat.
If you’re after a burger spot that delivers consistency, freshness, and a taste of West Coast culture, In-N-Out is it. Follow me and friend me for more real reviews that help you cut through the hype and head straight for...
