I have an early 2010s truck with a backup camera and a factory sub that was a bit funky to get aftermarket stuff in without losing those two features. Crutchfield says you canât keep these two features and offer no way around it. Thereâs a lot of posts on forums for custom splicing and wiring to keep them, but I really donât have time to have my interior all torn up and put it all together. I went to the first audio store that was closest to my house and he looked at it for a few minutes and said he wouldnât do it, even if we waited for parts to come in, he wouldnât even put in a head unit! Which I canât fault him for, if you arenât comfortable working on my car, please donât. Not feeling too confident and coming to terms with the fact I was going to have to do it myself I decided to try one more place and that turned out to be Audio Source. I went over there and the sales guy brought one of their install techs in to talk to me and he knew exactly what to do about all of it! I was hoping at best case scenario I could just talk them into running the RCA cable and not worry about the sub so I didnât have to worry about pulling all those fragile plastic panels (I have the worst luck breaking clips) so I could do the splicing for the backup camera myself, but he was super knowledgeable about the replacement amp to run the factory sub woofer, the dash piece that I would need to get from Honda (that I already ordered), the backup camera, the whole thing practically off the top of his head! On top of that they had everything in stock and said if I left the truck with them that day they would be able to get it done in between their customers who had appointments! By the end of the day I had my truck back with my factory backup camera and my factory subwoofer all fully functional! Super knowledgeable crew and saved me a lot of time and headache. On top of that I thought they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for the extra wiring but it was a very fair price. Next time I need some car audio work Iâm going straight...
Read moreI only gave them 1 star because there front desk service has always been courteous. But as far as installation process it's going to be 0 stars to maybe 1. The systems themselves sound great, but 4 out of 4 cars I brought there all have electrical problems from poor installation. So the door ajar alarm goes off randomly and sporadically, even when not turning or even moving. Not one of the cars use to do that until I brought to audio source. On my kia they fried a wire by my fuse box which messed with my headlights. Like they would turn off mid driving. Took in and had headlight switch replaced because that's what they thought it was, expensive so they felt bad and looked at my car for free til they found the problem which was poor installation from audio source they fried the wire. Thankfully it was a 10$ fix. And the last car which was a Mitsubishi SUV brand new too. I mean dude was so angry he was literally punching and kicking my car. The amount of dents I found was crazy, and he broke my cruise control switch and had cracks all over dashboard. I accidentally left my car camera activated and that's the only reason I was able to even discover how the stuff was damaged. He did a great job gluing and manuevering my car back together in the places he cracked. I mean he didn't go all hulk on my car but still completely out of line. Here's the cars I took in 01 kia sephia, 02 Kia Rio, 2017 Hyundai accent and 2019 Mitsubishi eclipse cross. The systems all sounded good and everything but 4 for 4 on electrical damage. If you can go to car toys or better yet teach yourself. I will never be getting another system...
Read morePoor workmanship. I have taken two vehicles to Audio Source for work and both times I had to return multiple times for rework. I had a remote start installed in my 2020 Toyota. I had to bring the car back 4 times in order for the remote start to work properly. The issue was that the safety switch was installed incorrectly to ensure the vehicle was not started with the hood open. I also brought in my daughters 2009 VW Beetle for a new stereo and speakers. When I picked up the car the stereo quick working when I connected my phone. The tech restarted the car and the stereo came back on. Jamal offered to replace the unit, but at the time I could not spare the time. I told him I would monitor the issue and let him know if I had further problems. A few days later the USB connector they installed fell out of the socket. I had to bring the car back again for a fix. The tech said that he would glue the plug back in?? I told Jamal that this was the second time they had worked on my vehicles and both times I had to return for installation issues. Jamal told me that this really affected him personally as he continued to work on something else on his computer. This is the last time I will work with Audio Source. I would suggest finding a different business...
