Angel’s Donuts & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Washington

By all accounts, I’m a self-proclaimed donut snob. I’ve been known to drive miles out of my way to get the perfect donut. I won’t name names, but those wham-bam, turn-and-burn shops? Not my thing.

So, the other day, I found myself in a bind. It was 9:40 AM—a risky hour for donut connoisseurs. Any seasoned fan knows that by then, the good stuff is usually gone. Taking a chance, I pulled into Angel’s shop. To my surprise, the inventory was still impressive.

The store was spotless, the smell alone was bliss-inducing, and the variety? Overwhelming in the best way. Lemon, strawberry, marionberry, coconut, maple, chocolate, maple with bacon, fritters, cinnamon with maple—I was like a kid in a candy store. I’d gone in intending to get two donuts, but somehow walked out with half a dozen. That tells you everything you need to know.

I delivered five to a friend, but I couldn’t resist eating one on the way. It was a chocolate-frosted twist, and wow. The donut was soft, practically melting in my hand, while the frosting was perfectly sticky—leaving just enough on my face to warrant a napkin swipe. That, my friends, is my kind of donut.

I’m already planning my next visit. Honestly, I’m convinced God guided me to that shop. Everything happens for a reason, and this time, the reason was donuts.

A quick tip: the parking lot is a bit tight right now, thanks to a tax office and a food truck sharing the space. But trust me—be patient. It’s worth every moment of donut-delayed...

I don't give 5 stars often. Just having good food won't do. It for me. For 5 stars there must be something above and beyond. Something that makes me feel like I've just come home, or met a friend one of my places. Has to have just the right mix of engaging conversation.and leaving me alone. Please try this place out. The young lady working the night we went was great they have a really nice selection of the basic donuts plus Umpqua Ice cream . I found out there is really such a thing as a donut Sunday. Didn't have any room for it after drinking a strawberry milkshake and ordering another milkshake before I was half through with the first. I searched social media to find what locals considered the best Apple Fritters in town, Angel's was suggested multiple times. So off I went to determine for myself as I miss a great apple fritter. I noted they have blueberry fritters also!

Overall, I found the location is great but parking can be limited.

Store smells great and the staff was friendly, attentive and helpful.

I believe there was 1 table at the entrance and a nice variety of ice cream for those who prefer dairy over gluten treats 😋
