I love Banh Mi(s) quite a bit. I've tried a lot of banh mis from different Vietnamese restaurants over the years, in both the Portland area, and up in Seattle.
I gotta say, this is probably the best Banh Mi I have ever had. I ate the lemongrass chicken banh mi and the bread was warm, and also soft, which was a bit different from the crispier baguettes most other places serve, but I still thoroughly enjoyed. The inside ingredients were also warm, such as the pate/mayo which is something that I haven't actually had before but made the experience all the more better. Not to mention the veggies were fresh and crisp, while didn't taste pickled still contrasted amazingly with the other warmer ingredients.
The star of the show, the chicken? Yeah, seasoned beautifully and cooked beautifully. Not dry at all.
I have a soft spot for small businesses, and especially for food trucks. This is an amazing place to grab a banh mi from, or if you're into breweries, to eat while at the brewery next door.

Read moreOMG!! I've been looking everyhere for a decent place that has great bahn mi since my normal place got new management and went downhill. This place is seriously delicious. Took my dad there for lunch and it was fantastic. I got the lemongrass pork and my dad got grilled pork both with a fried egg added. Something we've both never had on our bahn mi before. Then we got the tofu to share because I heard it was good from another review. So everything was outstanding except the tofu sandwich. It was mushy and kind of bland and looked nothing like the photo I had seen where it looked to be one or two long pieces and fried? Our was chopped up pieces of tofu. Maybe I ordered the wrong one or didn't order it like the other reviewer did. Either way not our cup of tea but we'll definitely be back to try the other sandwiches. I wish I had photos to share but we both forgot our phones in...
Read moreThese are not the most traditional bahn mi, but they are generous flavorful sandwiches. My lemongrass chicken had more meat than is expected, but breast not the traditional thigh. Generous veg and appropriate sauce. The bun was very good - a little more solid than the aethereal traditional bun, but with a nice crust and light middle. Apparently they bake on-site, and as an avid baker I was impressed. Hot sauce on the side has chunks of jalapeno or maybe Serrano pepper. Hubby got the grilled pork and said the flavor profile seemed more Korean than Vietnamese, but it was tasty and generous meat portion. He felt the hot sauce also read more Korean - most bahn mi just has pepper slices - but notes it packs real heat. The coffee should be sweeter, stronger, and richer, traditionally, but was a very nice iced coffee option. "Better than anything at Starbucks" was...
