Spencer's Ventura Mattress — Local services in Ventura

I purchased a mattress at Spencer’s a year ago, and, it’s already sagging badly already. Also, if you’re looking to buy a mattress from the most rude, disrespectful , belligerent sales guy on earth, Jim is your guy.

I was about to be attended by Jim since I was first in line, but , he would continually engage in lengthy conversations with other customers who were clearly in line behind me. I pretty much had to let it go because I was determined to get a mattress that day. In hindsight , I absolutely should have taken my business elsewhere.

About a week later, I stopped by there again to purchase two pillows. Unfortunately, Jim waited on me again with the same crappy attitude.

Two days later, I needed to go in there again to talk to Jim about the dead ants I found in the lining of my pillows. He completely blew me off and said it was from the seamstress’ work area and he refused to give me a refund or exchange.

While I was discussing the ants in my pillows with Jim, he answered the business phone and sounded quite agitated with the caller. He placed them on hold and said it was the owner, cursing him the entire time while I was standing there!

The problem with the mattress is that after spending almost $2,000 barely one year ago, it already sags big time, and, I get really grossed out thinking about the unsanitary conditions. The ants in my pillows were nasty enough. Also, Jim needs to keep his feelings and thoughts about his boss private. The way he handled the phone call with his boss in front of me was the ultimate unprofessional!

Our experience with Spencer's Mattress has been phenomenal. Great, attentive service from Jim and Spencer from the start, with lots of information to help narrow down the search for the perfect mattress. Beautiful serene store to walk through with big windows into their workshop where you can see all the materials that go into making the mattresses. We purchased the Doctor's Care Luxury Plush in a King size. Absolutely amazing comfort. We like the technology and ability to change out the top layer if our firmness/plush preferences change in the future. We have had our mattress for about 2 months now and it is as great as it was the first night. My mother has had a mattress (diff style) from Spencer's for the last 6 years and is pleased that its still the quality feel as it was when she purchased it. Before we got this mattress, we struggled to get a good night's rest. I tossed and turned all night (waking up my partner in the process) and woke up sore and tired. We both get deep sleep and my back pain is gone. This bed has suited our sleep styles well - my husband is a back and side sleeper while i like to sleep back/stomach/sides. What a great experience! From the first phone call with Spencer; discussing his product, discussing our needs, time frames, etc. Spencer and his team not only met but exceeded our expectations. Shipped our mattress to us. Packaged it perfectly. Delivered it with an exceptional carrier. My wife was a little concerned about not being able to try out the product but I assured her that after watching their YouTube videos of how they build their products and the quality materials they use that we would not be disappointed and that became a reality.
