This mall is one of the most visited places in our beloved city and for the life of me, I do not know why. We have two Hibbett Sporting Goods, a Hobby Lobby (which is actually amazing), a Greek food place, a chinese restaurant, a few hair salons & a Belk, a Dillard's (which is barely hanging on) and a movie theater (which is always riddled with screen and audio problems no matter what movie or theater I am in). So to me, there are two choices: either 1) renovate the mall and bring in some more stores or 2) demolish it and make something else. To give the mall some credit- in its heyday, the mall was booming. It would be filled with customers & mall employees who were actually happy to see those customers. Now, it is not the same. Mall employees are overall rude and unhelpful. They sometimes close the stores early, and this is something I learned from my experience in retail is a big no-no. The food is mediocre; it is definitely not something that will keep me coming back. The only that actually does keep me coming back isn't even inside the mall; it's the outside walking/running track that goes around the mall. There are people, believe it or not, who are trying to ruin that by walking around on their cellphones, fighting, throwing beer bottles, etc. We cannot have anything good, because our citizens do not know how to act when either the city as a whole is trying to do better or the citizens are trying to...
Read moreI grew up in this mall. Back in the 80's and 90's it was called "Pemberton Square Mall." A lot of stores closed down in it over the years, like Disc Jockey, Walden Books, and an old toystore I cannot remember the name of. You can still see where it used to be at the end of the mall with a wall icon with a clown face on it. It's still a great mall, not too big, not to small. Movie theater is A+. Vicksburg may be a small town, but everyone in Vicksburg likes it that way. Everyone has humble beginnings, and Vicksburg was a great place for me to begin my life. It's my hometown and this mall will always be my...
Read moreThe mall is definitively not what it used to be but its improving. The improvement is the movie theater. I saw the new Captain America movie there a week ago, the renovations they've done have been very good. The seats recline and are damn comfortable. There's so much room between the leather seats that they don't have to be stadium like. If there's any reason to go back to this mall, the movie theater is it. Had a great experience there and highly recommend it. The mall just needs to open more affordable retail and food shops to go along with the very good...
