Academy Sports + Outdoors — Local services in Victoria

I went in today to get some shoes with my mom and I found some that I liked and they were in the kids clearance section so I decided that I would get them. They didn't have a price tag or a box so I wasn't sure how much they were. When I went to check out they weren't on sale but I decided I would get them anyway and when I asked for a military discount as I have other times I have been in. I was told they didn't have a military discount. I told the lady I had been given military discounts the other times I went in, so she called over her headset to verify, and was told that they don't start military discounts until October. That is absolutely ridiculous, why would there be a time frame to get a military discount? All active duty and veterans, myself included, have severed or are serving this country! The military doesn't have a time frame on when they will protect and serve so why should there be a time frame on a discount for military personnel and veterans? I went to this academy to grab a few items of clothing while I was out of town for work. This store is similar in size and layout to my local store, but in generally much worse upkeep. The bathrooms were dirty, clothes piled up in front of and behind displays (some of which is evidenced in the pictures I am posting), and I couldn't locate a store manager who is often present and front facing in my local store. The messy piles of clothes for sale may be passed off as customers rummaging through and leaving piles except for the fact that it was a relatively empty store in the middle of the day on a weekday, I was the only one shopping that section, and multiple areas/brands were left in disarray. No one was even in the area to attempt to clean up the piles of clothing. Felt like I was looking through a bargain bin at a thrift store to find the style and size I wanted. I can’t speak for the store itself but definitely don’t try to buy a gun here. I ordered a shotgun online to pick up at this store and was met with rude customer service when it was ready to be picked up. I tried to just get in and get out at that point but instead was denied the purchase (which I already paid for online) because the girl thought I was buying it for someone else. I asked why she thought that I was buying it for someone else and she said because I didn’t inspect the gun thoroughly enough. It’s a new gun, I’m not sure what she was wanting exactly? Either way I just said okay and ended up calling The Armory here in Victoria and they had the one I was looking for at an even better price so it worked out in my favor.
