Beer Review:
If you've ever been to World Market, you already know they are a great place to go for cool unique gifts, especially gifts from other countries. I'm a big fan of the candy section, among other things. I'm here to talk about beer, however.
World Market has three beer offerings. Their four/six packs, their mixed singles, and their pre-packaged themed beer boxes. Let's start with that. I used to be pretty interested in these when I first started visiting WM. What I've found, however, is that the beer they choose tends to be more commercial than anything, and the box itself is a bit overpriced. I'd say these boxes are good gifts for people just starting to branch out from really common beer, but avoid them if you're trying to buy something cool for the beer connoisseur in your life.
The singles selection is actually pretty solid. Many of the options are common or boring, but there are usually several gems in there. You can easily make a great six pack comprised of all different styles. It should be noted, however, that you can choose from a much larger variety at Total Wine down the street.
The same goes for the four/six packs. You can find some great beer, but with Total Wine right around the corner, it's hardly worth going to World Market strictly for beer. Occasionally, you might find something truly special though, so it's worth checking out if you're already there for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've always enjoyed shopping at World Market and was a fan favorite before the Pembroke Pines location in Southwest Broward closed about four years ago.
Driving home through the Melbourne area, I was familiar with this particular location but it was always closed when I was "passing through." On Monday, June 8th, I visited around 4:45 p.m. and had an extensive conversation with Chris about some of the furniture pieces offered. Chris was very knowledgeable on the subject and even pointed me in the right direction when I requested a restroom.
Speaking of restrooms - the men's room was very clean and did not smell offensive.
I spent $78.92 on a bunch of foreign candy items that I could have done without. With that said, some of these items were the "old fashioned" candy items I was used to as a kid. By the time I am writing this review, I've eaten everything, including the Cinnamon toothpicks.
Clean location and friendly staff. Centrally located just north of Melbourne in the The Avenue at Viera, an open-air, pedestrian friendly shopping destination featuring premier national retailers, select local merchants and specialty restaurants.
I will be sure to visit again.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe managing supervisor there right now at 5:30 today is extremely unprofessional, has a nasty tone, and a terrible attitude. My FiancĆ© called asking for assistance with an order from online that he was expecting yesterday for his business office. It was for a sofa that was coming from this locations warehouse. The sofa is lost in transit and all we want is a replacement. Not a refund. This woman who claims to be a manager proceeds to talk back to my FiancĆ© and call him sassy while he is asking for help. She refused to provide her name. She hung up on him. I then called myself, asking to speak with a manager and she claimed to be the manager. I then asked to speak to someone above her and she said āno one is around.ā I asked for corporates contact and she asked if it was regarding the gentleman (my husband) who she was just speaking to. I told her it has no relevance and she refused to provide me her name as well. I said I will reach out to corporate and this woman says āfeel freeā and...
