UPDATE: It's seems that the owners have stepped up their game. So, I commend the team at Bean Sprout.
DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY!!! Just dine-in. Either way ... I'm done with deliveries and need to focus on school. Too many disrespectful employees and customers in food service. Good luck, Bean Sprout.
If you're looking to order delivery via DoorDash, UberEats, or BiteSquad, expect your order to be pushed back in favor of diners and takeout.
As a delivery courier, I represent any other patron that would otherwise have takeout. When ordering here, expect your order to be potentially late and cold after having delivery drivers, like me, cancel the delivery due to the restaurant's priorities: diners first, takeout second, and deliveries last. Even if you order well ahead of the diners and takeout, deliveries will be shuffled back.
Several times, I've had to wait for over 20 minutes at Bean Sprout due to delivery orders being pushed back in favor of other patrons. One extreme, I just cancelled due to the long wait while the one ordering gets stiffed with no food. Trust me, I've seen it in action. People coming long after my arrival. I, myself, used to work for 12 years in the food industry: busser, cook, server, and management. I know what goes on.
I suggest ordering from another restaurant, since they donāt regard deliveries remotely as priorities, or better yet, just dine in. I, myself, have eaten there once a while back. They served up good food, but the service was subpar.
Bottomline, Bean Sprout has good food but inadequate service for patrons requesting deliveries which is uncalled for. I gave it 2 stars for the quality of dining in. No stars for the leftover deliveries. If ordering for delivery, cross your fingers for prompt delivery of hot food. The other restaurants that use delivery service treat deliveries as equals, but Bean Sprout has yet to clean up their act. Hopefully, management will make corrective actions that will consider patrons that choose delivery as an equals.
In the light of it all, this review may inadvertently increase the numbers in dining in and increased tips for staff and decreased amount of delivery orders. It will save the the staff and patrons looking for delivery the hassle. If that happens, then you are welcome. As for ownership, the investor(s) will have decreased net sales, unless corrective actions are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been to many different Thai restaurants in Florida & other states. Honestly, the food here is good 7,8 out of 10 BUT the customer service is VERY BAD. Usually when a customer walk into a restaurant & stand inside by the door, the host or waitress/waiter will greet. It doesn't happen here. My clients & I stood there for a while, we saw the waitress/waiter saw us but they just kept walking by or looked away. Then we finally got to the table, got the menu, we waited again for a while before the waitress show up or acknowledge us. Throughout the meal, we had to signal to get the attention of the waitress or somebody to order something else otherwise he/she won'tcheck back on us. We had to signal to get the check as well. Meanwhile, we saw a group of waitresses, waiters, host stood in circle by sushi bar toward the back talking & laughing. When we're all done & walked out, they saw us but none of them say Bye or Thank you or anything. We still left decent tips as courtesy & as we understand they work base on tips BUT WE WERE NOT HAPPY & MORE LIKELY WON'T RETURN. We saw the waitresses picked what customers they want to spend time talking with & clearly ignored others. Again, The food is good. Location is good. Customer Service is the WORST of all Thai restaurants we've been to. If this restaurant were in a different location with this kind Service, it won't last long. We didn't ask for much either. Acknowledge customers when they walk in, check in on them throughout, make sure they got everything they need & thank you when they walk out. You want good tips, It isn't free. You need to work for it! This review isn't meant to be rude to you. This meant to help you & your restaurant if you want to be in business. More & more restaurants are popping up everywhere. Customers always have other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOkay, this is the tale of two experiences, on the same visit, at this place...
The first experience (and impression for that matter) was not good. Upon arriving and opening up the door to the locale, it was backed up by patrons waiting for their takeout orders. There were several folks, who later I would notice waited quite some time for their take out. It was a somewhat bizarre sight to behold. I had the time to notice these things because...wait for it...we had to wait what I timed was a solid 10-min before any waitress even acknowledged us, much less took our drink and dinner orders.
Now, the second experience: Once a waitress did finally stop and ask us for drinks and food orders, things seemed to turn around like a switch of a light. Our two orders of appetizers came out quickly, the food orders were almost on its heels, and the waitress made sure to keep our teas and water glasses filled to the rim. (I honestly thought we were going to spend the night there waiting for food after seeing how slow there were earlier getting food out to takeout patrons.)
The food itself was very good. It was presented nicely (as shown in some of the pics on here) and it all tasted fresh and delicious - no complaints. Other than waiting what I deem an unacceptable amount of time for the waitress to come to us - she recovered superbly. I would have loved to chit-chat with her, but she was working hard this particular Sunday evening (of all days.)
Anyway, I erred on the side of fairness and rated this four-stars because of the spectacular recovery. Otherwise, this would have been a much lesser of an experience. Now, do I recommend? Yeah, I do. I think we found them in a tough spot on a Sunday night, which I am willing to discount and come back happily...
