Let me first say that up until today, I've never had a complaint about Longhorn. It's our steak house of choice. My daughter and I stopped in for lunch today. Server was friendly, took our order, brought out bread. We both ordered MEDIUM RARE filets with a side and also the side salad. Our salads were brought out and about two or three bites into my salad, a not small bug, half alive, crawls out of my salad and rests on the side of the bowl (I have pics). I kept my cool, did not make a scene and called the waitress over. I didn't say a word to her so as to not garner attention over it. I pointed to the bug, she grabbed my plate and took off without a word. We sat there for about 25 minutes and the server finally came by and asked us if the manager had come by. No, no he had not. A couple minutes later ther manager delivered our food. I could tell my steak was very over cooked just by looking at it and no pink juices on the plate at all. I cut into it to check and the manager saw it and knew immediately. He asked me if it was over cooked. I said yes but leave it, I'm not waiting another half hour for a medium rare steak while my daughter eats hers... which was cooked perfectly by the way so I'm unsure why mine was put on the grill way before hers. The manager left the table without another word. Did not even mention the live bug in the salad. Daughter and I ate what we could, I laid my card on the table to let the server know we wanted to pay and leave. She took the card, brought my receipt, in which I was charged the full amount for the meal. Now, I am giving grace for the bug because that can happen, nobody's fault, guess the kitchen didn't wash the lettuce very well. Im giving grace on the way over cooked steak because i get it, restaurants are just opening back up and trying to get into the swing of things again, hence why i did not complain about a single thing. Here's my problem, that manager did not even come to our table to address the live bug situation or offer any apologies for that or the $25 chunk of shoe leather he served me when he KNEW I was unhappy about it. I had planned on still paying my full check but he could've at LEAST apologized for the whole bad experience and comp'd the two salads that we weren't able to eat. But no, nothing. I'm just really disappointed in handling of the situation and what sucks most is Longhorn is our streak house of choice but we won't go there again because of how this wasn't handled. Not because of the bug, it happens, and not because of the overcooked steak, it happens. It's because the manager didn't even care enough to come to our table...
Read moreNo photos, sorry. I've eaten here before & always been pleased w/the overall experience. I love LH, but this experience was disappointing, and they can't be bothered to comment after several weeks.
Sorry for the following length, & I believe in being thorough.
I'll start by saying, "No, I didn't discuss the following issues w/the Mgr bc 85% of it wasn't my food" and my companions are hesitant to say anything. I'm nice when I bring up issues, & I'm not afraid to do so but, it's not my responsibility when it's someone else's.
The service was good, friendly, & attentive w/o being overbearing.
The food: it appears no one in the kitchen actually read the tickets today (at least not our table). They didn't cook or serve anything w/o errors except the apps. I think the reason my companions didn't say anything is bc, technically, the errors weren't terribly egregious (altho, when a customer asks for something prepared a certain way, they should receive it).
I had a lunch salad for $9.99 (not really worth it, imho, which was basically a large side salad, but it does come with a reg side item. I asked for the dressing on the side. Why they dressed it anyway, then included a side of dressing, is beyond me. Luckily for them (bc I hate wasting food) it wasn't completely overdressed, but it was more than I would've used (but still edible & tolerable). I realized after we left they also forgot to put the pecans in my salad, which I know is a significant factor in the cost, and made the 9.99 I paid for it even more hurtful. My side item wasn't cooked how I requested, but no surprise there bc of errors w/everyone else's items.
One of my friends ordered a beef item, but with the toppings on the side. Of course, hers came out with all the toppings on it. She also ordered a to-go item for later, and the wrong side was included.
My other friend ordered a burger, med-well, but it came out medium. Apparently, it was cooked enough (she said so, bc I asked), but she never complains about anything, agrees w/everyone, and doesn't like to make decisions. The burger was def cooked med bc there was pink in the entire center, and it should've been cooked through.
C'mon folks at LH, please get it together. This is my personal favorite over TR or OB, by far. Although we weren't served any raw, dangerously undercooked/way overcooked food, the kitchen shouldn't have basically screwed up everyone's order. Y'all weren't even that busy, tbh, and it was middle of...
Read moreTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!! I called in to make an order and after 3 tries they finally answered and was told "we are busy so im going to hurry and take your order" I just asked what sides they had and the EXTREMELY rude lady over the phone went "seriously?! Oh my god" Then when I finished my order she just hung up. I showed up 15 minutes later after receiving no call and my food was waiting on the counter.
When I opened my meal the food was sloppily thrown all over the place all of my food was ice cold. My chicken tenders were barely breaded and my fries were mashed together as well as cold...fries should not be cold...Mac n cheese tasted old and I'm pretty sure I didn't even get a full portion there were like barely a handful of fries.
All in all I felt that this was the worst experience I've ever had eating out ANYWHERE. I'm extremely disappointed in this experience but unfortunately this was not the first time. A few of the staff members there are very nice but the majority of them are very very rude.
I felt like the employees there felt like I was wasting their time, I was yelled at over the phone to "hurry up with my order and why don't you just order online." I feel like Longhorn did not want my business at all and I felt like I was not valued as a customer at all not even a little bit. I will NEVER EVER go back and I will let many locals know to not go to long horn unless they do serious adjustments to their staff.
Experiences can be unforgettable and unfortunately for you long horn, this was an experience I will NEVER forget on a bad note.
-Seriously get it together or shut it down I spend my hard earned money on places I am welcome not where I feel like I'm a pain for just wanting to order my food on my lunch break.
Thanks for a very disappointing dining experience ,...
