Restaurant Review: A Mixed Bag Experience
Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the inviting exterior and well-thought-out interior design, which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, my experience took a turn when I noticed there was no one at the entrance to greet me. After a brief wait, a staff member emerged from behind the bar to ask me to hold on while they arranged a table.
Once seated, I encountered a friendly waitress who was not only polite but also attentive to my needs. She made the dining experience more enjoyable with her charm and willingness to assist. The overall cleanliness of the establishment was commendable; everything from the tables to the menus appeared well-kept.
When it came to the service-food-price balance, I found it lacking, giving it a score of 3/5. I had hoped for better quality given the prices, but it seemed the restaurant was struggling in that department.
The drink selection was another disappointment. As an Italian restaurant, I expected a wider variety of Italian wines, but the house Pinot Grigio was particularly subpar—essentially undrinkable.
Starting with the appetizers, the truffle fries were visually appealing but unfortunately undercooked. The accompanying sauce was tasty, which was a redeeming quality. The fried calamari looked good but also suffered from undercooking, resulting in an off taste and texture. The Bruschetta was enjoyable but could benefit from fresher tomatoes.
For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Alfredo. The pasta was slightly overcooked, and the chicken tasted generic—definitely not the quality I hoped for. To my dismay, the chicken was also undercooked, which was a significant letdown.
It seemed the restaurant might be facing challenges, as the chef and hostess appeared to be multitasking, serving food and managing the front of the house. They seemed like a couple who were deeply invested in the place, which was admirable. The restaurant has a solid foundation and potential to shine, yet, with the current prices, I believe it deserves a rating closer to 3.9 stars rather than the higher end of the scale. With some adjustments and improvements, this venue could easily reach 4.5 stars and provide a much...
Read moreIf you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine, this is NOT the place. We happened in on “German” night. That should’ve been our first clue. This was our first visit. I’ll start with the few positives. My kids all had minestrone soup for their first course & the calamari for their appetizer. The soup was tasty without being over-salted. My mother & son had Alfredo pasta with shrimp. Also done nicely. Shrimp was slightly over cooked. One person ordered the seafood pasta & loved it. That’s where the positives end. Our sever would disappear for long periods of time. Our beverages would be empty for up to 20 minutes before she’d cruise by to check in. We had to ask for bread. She replied “oh you usually get bread with the salads.” That’s unacceptable. The first round of bread was burned. The second was fine but unremarkable in flavor. My dad ordered a German dish. It was so salty he couldn’t eat it. My husband had a rigatoni pasta dish that was super bland & unremarkable. Way too much sauce. I ordered chicken picatta. It was NOT chicken picatta. It was chicken Marsala with a few capers thrown in. Was really disappointing. Chicken picatta is made with thinly sliced fried chicken breast with a reduced light buttery wine sauce with capers served traditionally with Angel hair or rice. The chicken was grilled & rubbery. This was served with fettuccine — was sloppy & inaccurate. The side salads were very small & drenched in dressing. They need to be larger & less dressed. They were not at all comparable to the size of the soups. Again, we had to keep asking for beverage fill-ups. The “chef” needs some training in how chicken picatta should be made & how to not over or under salt dishes. It took over an hour & a half to get our entrees. The only reason it gets two stars is because three of us out of seven enjoyed their meal. Won’t...
Read moreDo not come to this restaurant if you have a larger party. Very poorly managed with the rudest manager I have ever spoken with. We had a party of 15 and management decides that a new waitress was suitable all by herself to wait for this large of a party. So it takes 2 hours for our entrees to come out and then they come out in increments of 1 or 2 at a time spaced out at least 5-10 minutes . We had some guests served their meals while others waited 30-45 minutes more for theirs. Then the pasta dishes came out cold, watery and with little to no sauce. The people in my party began to complain about this and the poor waitress tried to fix it but she was obviously overwhelmed. So I ask to speak with the manager; Wow! She honestly had the worst customer service skills I have ever been a party to, and please believe that I am not one that normally ever complains, certainly only when it is fitting to do so. She basically accused my family of “trying to get something for nothing” and did not even offer to fix the meals. Her response was “Everyone loves our food so if you don’t like it, that’s on you. 😮 She made my family feel like we were below her and was very snide about the whole thing. I even tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and said that I understand things are not easy right now with staff shortages all over for service industries. Her response? She grinned at me and says, “Oh we had plenty of staff, I even had someone extra that could have come back to help if I wanted her to.” I’m not sure how long she has been managing that restaurant but I would definitely recommend staying away from that place especially if you have a large family that you want to be treated with common courtesy and there are far better Italian restaurants in the...
