The idea of going to a gym and looking lost can be so overwhelming and intimidating. But the environment in Unify is the complete opposite. It's so welcoming and filled with friendly people who are focused on their own fitness journey and are not there to judge others. That's the kind of "workout culture" that Unify cultivates - no judgement, just patience, humor, and motivation. Unify trainers are all aware that not everyone is at the same fitness level and are extremely knowledgeable in tailoring each workout for each person to produce the best results. Shout out to my trainer Hannah S. (my first ever trainer) who has been so patient with all my whining (lol) and continues to push me to be successful! The biggest thing that owners Brian & Melissa emphasize is accountability. They truly care for the success of their clients and will work with you as much as they can in helping you meet your fitness goals, but YOU have to put in the work. They don't run their business like a traditional gym that will gladly take your money without any care for your success. The owners, the trainers, the people - it all feels like a bunch of friends pushing each other to keep going and work harder!
For people who searched "gyms near me" and are curious about the logistics (as I was): There's no annual fee. You're paying for a chunk of training sessions at a time, which you'll figure out with Brian/Melissa. Along with your payment for training, you get access to the cardio equipment in the lobby any time during business hours. No, you won't have access to strength training equipment/machines outside of your training sessions. But again, Unify is not a traditional gym. They primarily offer sessions with a personal trainer, which is when you get to use their full arsenal of equipment. Believe me, you get your money's worth with each training session. Group sessions are cheaper than one-on-one training. But for me, because I was too self-conscious to workout with a group, I started out with one-on-one training then switched over to group. I soon realized it was way more fun to workout with other people! HIIT Tuesday and Bootcamp/Yoga Saturday are free group sessions that come with your training. Other group sessions (of different workout genres/types) are constantly offered. They aren't free but are still worth it and super fun. You're told as they become available, but you are never pressured to join! If you're even a little bit curious if Unify is right for you, just schedule a consultation/visit. Brian and Melissa are honest and will answer any questions you may have, especially with pricing. No hidden fees. And while you're there, watch how they and everyone else interact with each other. That's what drew me in!
Unify won't be right for everyone, because it all depends on what you need from a gym/fitness studio, but it was the perfect...
Read moreWhat a feeling having found a gym that's everything I've needed! I've tried so many gyms and I always drift away, or don't find "time". UNIFY is different! There's a whole sense of accomplishment (not only that cold towel bonus after a session) and the feeling of accountability to actually show up and DO THE WORK!
My fiance introduced me to the Unify team almost a year ago and I've loved it. I've been through a couple sessions of the group classes and they're always a blast. I've been through some gym challenges too which helped and motivated me to lose 16 pounds! Plus, I'm keeping it off! Being a guy, I burn typically 1,000 calories, so it's great that they have the grab & go shakes, drinks, bars and such that you can snag on the way out the door.
The instructors are everything though. No matter what gym you frequent, you'll never find instructors like these instructors! They're always changing up the sessions, which keeps me from getting stagnant and bored. They are always motivating my fiance and I, plus our friends that have joined, to push us to our limits, hold us accountable, and keep us on target to build our strength, endurance and stamina. They have plenty of equipment on hand plus some machines to keep everyone working on something.
At this point, I can't imagine my life without this gym. The fact it proved to me that with the right guidance and accountability, you're able to become the person you want to be. Plus, they have a Fit3D scanner so you can track the change of your body. Boy did I change since I've joined! They explained my results and helped guide me in the right direction for the results I was aiming for.
I'm hoping to bring more of my friends on, and continue making friends at this gym.
Teamwork makes the dream work! You're not in this alone! Come in, meet the owners, find your new favorite instructor(s)/family,...
Read moreI am active duty military and have recently gone through multiple surgeries which left me bedridden for the better part of two months. During this time, I gained quite a bit of weight. Being in the military, this was considered unacceptable. I happened to spot Unify while driving down Rosemont, and decided to set up a consultation just to see what they were about. From the minute I stepped inside, I knew it was the place for me. The staff is amazing and care about your personal goals and wellbeing, and the facility itself is always clean and kept in perfect condition. I started working with Aaron the next day and within the first two months had already lost six pounds. Every time I walk through that door, I am greeted with enthusiasm and can't help but feel a sense of belonging. Unfortunatly, I ended up needing another surgery and haven't been unable to do much more than meander around the house. While recovering, I received texts from the owners, asking how I was doing and if there was anything they could do for me. Also, they sent me a Get Well card with little messages inside from my trainer and the two owners. At Unify, they really do their best to make you feel like you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Not to mention they also have nutrition seminars, a dietitian on hand, as well has physical and massage therapists. This place is not just a gym you buy a membership for, it's a place where you go to really make a change to your lifestyle, whith friends who do whatever they can to help you...
