uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair — Local services in Visalia

if there is any review about this place you should read let it be this one. I usually don’t write reviews bc I’m pretty whatever about stuff, but this place has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’m sure other locations might be better and asurion itself is alright but ubreakifix (more specifically this visalia, ca location) is terrible. I made an appointment to take my laptop to get fixed cause I had their insurance program and they lied to me about having found my claim (did not mention their internet being down), assumed I had a full claim and took it instead of telling me. Then I spent a week trying to get ahold of my tech and I found out he fixed my laptop, but they couldn’t give it back cause they couldn’t find my claim. I created one, but needed pictures of my broken screen which I couldn’t get bc it was already fixed. I then proceeded to go back and forth w/ubreakifix and asurion w asurion claiming they had to cancel my claim and I had to pay $600 cause it was already fixed and ubreakifix claiming it wasn’t their issue and I had to call asurion. That is a short recap bc there is so much more that went wrong. The current store manager (Brian) at this location was my tech also so how this happened is insane. I did get my stuff back free of charge after 2 weeks of back and forth, but I do not recommend literally at all. Phone had a defective screen. They replaced it through an extended warranty but set backs pushed same day service to the next day. I thought it was all good when I picked it up. Disclaimer and all that has details but who actually reads that? They failed to mention that the phone was not restored to the previous condition and the screen/phone integrity was now compromised. Mentioning that would have made all the difference. Got water damage and they charged me 300 to fix it now, an extra 100 to use a dehydrator (they offered to waive that though). I cancelled the repair and was given the phone back with the screen in even more finicky condition. I was able to get the same year old phone in brand new on sale for 400 that same night. They use official parts and are "certified" but I'd prefer my phone with the defective screen than a phone that couldn't get wet. I was able to replace a screen before for an older phone in just as good as shape as what I got here. Went through them bc of the warranty. I wouldn't recommend them if you're somewhat tech savvy or realize opening up devices isn't as challenging as it may seem unless you get something done under warranty/cheap and okay you'll have a device in a crippled condition (some devices that shouldn't really matter as much). they just give you the run around…. So Initially when I came to get my macbook fan cleaned, I called BEFOREHAND and asked how much and how long the service would take, and person who answered my phone call said to me,”oh yeah we can do that for you “QUICK… even same day” Okay great, I go and they tell me it’s going to be 120$? And I said of course I’m not paying that, and THEN they offered me their TRASH Asurion+ plus membership and that would make it 24.99… so I was like uh okay sure. I left it May 31st and he told me it should be ready in 5-6 days. I called at day 5,”oh we are ordering a particular paste to put on your fan so it will not over heat blah blah, that should come today or tomorrow” I call day 7: “tech is out of town today, but it’s not his desk, I’m sure he will start on it tomorrow”. I called day 10 “yup the laptop is on his desk, seems he will get started on it soon.” I just said to return my laptop to me and do nothing and you know what they told me???
