I never paid attention to this building, except to wonder how a little pink "fashion" store on Albion could do enough business to survive. I went because, while shopping for a wedding outfit, I realized I needed a bra fitting after losing weight. My aunt, who lived in Wakefield for a long time, suggested Florence's.
Walking in, the place was very crowded with a wide variety of styles and a ton of heads with wigs. Honestly, the shop did not seem like the place for me. I figured I'd get a bra and then go shopping for clothes.
I was very surprised to find everything I needed and some items I would not have considered, but she asked me to try on for her! The shop owner, Barbara, is really good at what she does!
I am not a fashion-focused person, I like sticking to timeless staples with a funky twist and comfortable shoes.
But, not only did I get a good fitting and a bra I love, but a bonus stylist who worked with me, showing me a variety of options, really listened to what I did or didn't like about each and helped me craft the perfect outfit for the wedding and a great bra! I think everyone should go, alone bc it is tight in there, and just see what she has for you, it's fun.
Thank you, Barbara! Not sure if you would have recommended the platform sneakers I wore, lol, but I got so many compliments...
Read moreOh! My! Goodness!!! This woman is a GODESS! I feel as if she is my own personal GODESS when I’m there! She looks after you, she takes extraordinary care with all us girls, weather it’s you’re first time or you’re repeating. She is so wonderful, she seems to know what I want before I do, & she’s usually spot on. I’m not able to get up there from Quincy as often as I would like, but when I do, it is always an extra special occasion. I love you Barbara!! Nora...
Read moreI came here with a woman who is blind that I volunteer with regularly.
As soon as I told the store owner "she's blind, I'm her volunteer" it was like we weren't allowed to touch anything.
When we couldn't find what she was looking for (without us saying goodbye), the store owner voluntarily opened the front door and said "well, have a good day"! Not an acceptable thing to do at all!
I won't be going there ever...
