The customer service was great. Unfortunately, on July 8, I had my granddaughter, son, and my ears pierced (not my first). All of us develop an infection with pus and bleeding. Yes, we cleaned areas three times a day with our individual bottle of recommended solution.
After a couple days to a week, we were experiencing tenderness, fluid, and crust in the piercing areas.
Essentially, we were told by a nurse to remove earrings immediately and clean often for areas to drain naturally. However, my online research on several sites advised against removing starter earrings early.
Weeks later, the dermatologist had to drain both my ear lobe piercings areas. We are still waiting for the infections to heal and follow-up appt. Pus pockets developed in other areas around the ear as well.
Btw, Claires is selling small diamonds for starters earrings, which I thought would be best to prevent issues for my granddaughter ears but now a waste of money due to this issue. Clearly, the piercing gun may not have been properly sterilized in the beginning and throughout for my family to have the same infection and symptoms. The technician did use a solution to clean the ear lobes before each injection.
Beware, you sign a waiver before getting this service, so...
Learning lesson: The best technique is to get a piercing by needle, not a gun, per my dermatologist. No ear ring bling for us at this time. The Waldorf location was recommended by a friend b/c of the customer service she...
Read moreThe store was not clean and shelves were not full. I did visit two days after Christmas so maybe they didn’t have time to restock yet. But the floor looked like it had not been vacuumed in days. Customer service could have been better. No one greeted us when we walked in, nor ask if we need assistance. It wasn’t until we walked closer to the register area that one young lady spoke. The manager never spoke and was busy with training the associate at the register area. I couldn’t put our items on the counter because they had a book they were looking at and discussing covering it. I had to hand my items to the other associate and then she asked us if we were aware of the sale on the jewelry for the buy three get three free. I did appreciate her telling me about this and my daughter was able to go back to get additional items. Even with a sale the items we purchased in my opinion over priced. My daughter had a $50 gift card and I still ended up adding money to the items she wanted. I haven’t been in a Claire’s in years and didn’t realize how much items cost now...
Read moreVery disappointed with this store. My 5 month old grand-daughter got her ears pierced 6 weeks ago and one of her earrings fell out last week. First off, they poke her 3 times in one ear so you know she was crying and in pain. One young lady did the right ear no problem while another young lady did the left ear THREE times!! It was heart-wrenching seeing her go through that. Well I called the store to find out about a replacement earring and was told that I was giving a 3 week healing kit and it's now 6 weeks later so there is nothing that they can do.....so, apparently I was given a 3 week healing kit which I don't recall them explaining any options because they are now tell me that they also have something for 2 months depending on the healing solution......now remember my grand-daughter was in a lot pain and all I wanted to do was get far away from that young lady because she clearly didn't know what she was doing. I will never go back or refer anyone to this...
