Not worth the price. The Room: When we checked in the room had 2 light bulbs out, the door didn't close correctly, there was a wad of brown hair on shower soap dish, the shower head was clogged with calcium build up that made it shoot a stream of water and spray up in air and the shower wasn't/hadn't been clean. The next morning, I went down and indicated I wanted my room cleaned and refreshed. I was told they only serviced rooms every 3 days by one lady, she also said to set my trash in hall way to be removed. I proceeded to complain that the room was not clean and another woman the manager came out and said no worries we will go service your room. I also requested the shower head changed, the light bulbs replaced and door fixed as it stuck open. We left for the day and came back at 7PM. Nothing had been fixed. I was told handy man left. James came up and looked at shower head and took picture of wad of hair. He could fix anything. The next day I went down to get coffee and told the front desk, The handy man Brett was there and he told the front desk gal no one had given him the repair order the day before. He came up and fixed door, changed shower head and added the 2 missing light bulbs. The next day at 2:30 PM I called and asked for fresh towels. We came back after dinner and had no towels in room. Every ice machine in the hotel was broke and you had to go to bar to get ice. The Air Conditioners in hallways were all turned off, it was 86 degrees with 50% humidity. The room has rusted light fixtures in bathroom and worn furniture. I would not stay here again, very poor housekeeping staff. I am a Hilton Diamond member for life.
The Police Station: on our 3rd night, I was woken up at 2:30 AM to the sound of 5 squad cars with sirens. the 4th night same thing. Then I realized police station was behind our room. If I had been on other side of hotel this would not of occurred. It is in my profile I am a light sleeper and request quiet room. I could not fall back asleep both nights after being woken up at 2:30 AM
The air-conditioner: Worked great in day time but did not cool room at night. Very unpleasant sleeping.
The Staff: The staff was very friendly and the most redeeming part of stay. Kasia was very friendly and helpful as well as James and Brett.
This hotel needs to be remodeled, also the housekeeping staff well it sucks. The maid is responsible for reporting room problems. The carpet felt slimy and when my husband walked with his socks on the sere stained black. Really gross.
Also we book hotel with pool so out grand kids could come swim, The pool was broke and closed. The kids were looking forward to swimming it was a let down. Also they were painting out side of hotel with a scissor jack. Guess were the parked scissor jack at night? In the Hilton Honors parking spaces. A whole huge empty parking lot and the parked it there 2 nights. Very bad experience. Never got food credit we were...
Read moreI've stayed at Hilton hotels as my preferred chain for several years, and have overall been very happy with my stays.
I don't understand why this location has several frustrating policies to push guests away. They initially state that all guests will have to pay $10 per day for parking. At check-in, they provided us with a code to cover the parking however. After entering it into their online portal, it stated my "100% discount was applied." yet it still demanded a credit card entry. I was charged $1 despite this, and although it's not a lot of money it's the principal of it. If parking was paid, why can I not just add it to the card already on file at check-in?
In the morning, my girlfriend and I decided to head up front to get a small breakfast. I'm confident I had seen references to this being included with my stay here, but that's no longer the case. The standard eggs/ sausage/ baggel buffet style bar was actually going to cost us an additional $20~ per person, a ridiculous charge for the small breakfast we wanted.
Lastly, I found the front desk staff member working mornings quite abrasive over multiple interactions. While not necessarily rude, she laughed and dismissed our request for an early check-in on the phone initially. This was immediately after being transferred from their corporate line who told us she spoke to her colleagues with this location and guaranteed a 1:30PM check-in. This meant my girlfriend had to sit uncomfortably in the lobby for an extended period while waiting (she ended up getting checked in early by another more helpful staff member who saw her waiting though.) The woman working the front desk during the evening was very polite and helpful though.
We only switched to staying here this week after another Hilton we stayed with in Waldorf had significant issues with a room infested with Roaches and drain flys. We were willing to pay a premium for this location, but in my opinion we did not receive a premium experience. We were left feeling mislead with surprise expenses and a lack of customer service during...
Read moreCatching up on my reviews for this travel season now that it has come to an end. Was in town back in April to kick off my travel season for Honda Day down at the International Raceway. Appearance from the outside was great, looked modernized, had plenty of parking to accommodate my truck and trailer, only problem outside was there was a huge area of shattered glass in a big section of the parking lot that was there the entire time me and my group were there (nearly a week - Wednesday through Tuesday). Inside is a totally different story. If I am ever going to spend $3200 on three (3) rooms for six (6) nights for eight (8) people there again, there needs to be some major updating as well as cleaning throughout the building. Walls seemed paper thin, so when there was a couple rooms between one of our three rooms and some noisy neighbors were in them a couple of the nights we heard everything and didn't sleep too well those nights. Seams in the wallpaper were very noticeable and flapping in places even. Black mold in two of our bathrooms, one way worse than the other (that bathroom did not get used at all). The ceiling in one of the rooms must have had a leaky pipe fixture or something in it, as the cauliflower ceiling exploded in one corner of the room from the time we checked in to the time we checked out (and was reported to the front desk as well). Various fixtures throughout each room cracked, scratched, broken, or missing - two shower towel hangers falling out the walls while there - one of them one of us just gently hung up a towel to prepare to shower and everything fell down as soon as they turned around for a brief minute. One room door you practically had to slam shut to get it to latch properly. Location was okay, but the outdated and moldy rooms need dealt with, and I also wonder if and when all the glass shards in the parking lot got cleaned up and how many flat tires were caused...
