This theater has went downhill. The seats in some rooms are extremely damaged had to sit on my jacket. The last two times I went were very disappointing. We went to go see " red one". The ending of the movie was cut off. So we were given free tickets. Decided to give it another shot. See a throwback "how the Grinch stole Christmas" using the free tickets. The popcorn was completely cold. But as long as we get to see the movie we'll deal. Get inside the screen is blank no previews nothing 15 minutes past Showtime. I go to let the clerk know And decided I to get fresh popcorn after all. The clerk attitude was totally off but she was resolving the issue so I'll disregard. back in the theater Moana 2 playing. I went to let her know it was the wrong movie this time. Back in the screening for the third time. Moana comes on again. At this point I decided to leave. I tell the clerk . First she gives me the wrong amount refund $5 short. I let her know and she gives me the correct amount for the food purchased. But I also need my credit back for the movie that I didn't see. She says yes I gave you all of your money back. She basically wants to argue about my credit weather is cash or the same tickets I gave her I need that back. I received those tickets for a movie that I paid for previously but rather than make an issue out of it I just said okay to the credit to return for another movie. I've been here for an hour. Holiday throwback movie, in the right spirits for Christmas and disappointed yet again. December 18 7:20 pm showing. They get a one-star.
Okay I had to update my review after actually going to see the Sonic 3 movie at the escape Brandywine. Deciding to use my free tickets rather than waste them turned out to be a great idea. The employees working today were exceptional pleasant well spoken just totally polite service was fast movie started on time the movie was awesome and the extreme theater room definitely is comfortable probably the best room they have so in the future if I return to this theater I will be sure to get the showing where I can be in the extreme theater room. Although I feel the other rooms should be updated as well they need improvement. The movie played all the way through and I left as a very satisfied customer. I still may not return to this theater because I would like to have a good experience every time without trying to figure out when is the best time to go for a good experience. I mean I can attend another theater and get that experience every time I go. But I do want to thank the staff that was there on today. December 21st 1:50 pm. They deserve a five-star. But because of previous experience I can only give...
Read moreI recently had the worst movie-going experience of my life at this theater in Brandywine, MD. I took my family to see the Super Mario Brothers movie, which was shown in theater room 7, and the movie was out of focus and blurry for the entire runtime of the film. It was so bad that it was physically hurting my eyes while attempting to focus on the screen and I have no visual impairment(s) whatsoever.
I went to the lobby area to ask if someone could fix the image and the young man left to speak to someone in the back, returned, and told me that they said they would fix it. A few minutes later, the image appeared to move around the screen a bit, but remained out of focus ( it is possible it might have gotten worse, but I have no way of measuring that definitively ). I didn't bother to make a second attempt as it didn't appear to me that the staff was aware of how to execute and confirm proper adjustments.
After the movie, I had a headache for several hours that most likely stemmed from the eye strain. My wife also complained of similar symptoms. The only saving grace was that my son is only 4 and seemed not to notice or care about the abysmal image quality, but I do worry about the strain it might have put on his eyes as he's still developing.
I have run into all sorts of issues visiting movie theaters in my life from rude visitors and/or staff to complete loss of audio, but this is the first time I've encountered a problem that not only made the film effectively unwatchable, but also was not at all fixed or even improved after the staff was notified.
Please consider staffing individuals that understand how to properly calibrate and configure the equipment that is in use. I understand that staffing issues arise, but I imagine it would be better to shut down certain viewing rooms in those cases. Providing such a poor quality showing will undoubtedly discourage customers from returning more than anything else. This was my first time visiting this theater and I was given a very good reason to never...
Read moreWe went to see a movie in the afternoon on 5.29.22. We didn't have high expectations from reviews but figured we would give this theater a try. Here was our experience:
We arrived about 20 min before our movie start time. We were able to buy tickets using a kiosk on the side. There was also an attendant available for us to purchase tickets from.
Bathrooms were okay. All floors were definitely sticky. Some toilet paper in various stalls but pretty clean otherwise.
We had to find someone to get us 3D glasses. The ticket collector was MIA.
We were in theater 13. It was fairly empty. Our seats were broken. We had to move several times before we found seats that weren't very broken. This wasn't an issue for us as the theater was pretty much empty.
Atmosphere. You could tell the air smelled musty when you walked into the theater room. It was also much warmer in the theater than in the hallways and main areas of the theater. This did not improve throughout the movie.
Regarding the movie. We started watching previews and the screen suddenly shut off. We waited several minutes before finding an attendant. They didn't seem surprised and asked if the projector was acting up or just completely off.
Throughout the movie, you could tell the projector hadn't been cleaned and had been scratched. It was like watching a low resolution movie at home and there were several lines that could be seen in the movie throughout.
Theater lights stayed on the entire time during the movie. I don't think anyone stopped by to check in the entire time we were watching the movie.
Sound. It was apparent that at least one or more of the speakers was broken as we could hear it buzzing throughout the movie, especially when there were any action scenes.
Overall, it would have been better for us to watch the movie at home. We don't...
